What: Mean!Akito is bored. Zelman is bored. They go out in town to be bored together.
When: Yesterday, somewhere between the hours of 10:00pm and 1:00am.

Zelman didn't appreciate being kept waiting.
If he himself had a tendency to show up late for things, it probably wouldn't have mattered--but being on time was one of the few things he actually put some effort into doing, and so he expected common courtesy back, fair was fair.
He'd probably be less annoyed with it if the kid hadn't added the bit about "principle" being another reason for his lateness. He pulled a cigarette out of the pack in his pocket and lit it, wondering vaguely if either versions of Akito would mind if he smoked. His brother did, all the time. That crocodile guy.
He took a drag and looked up at the sky. It was always nicer at night, in his opinion. Quieter. And he was giving up some of his precious nighttime hours to hang out with a fourteen year old that, on first impulse, seemed bent on causing him some kind of ridicule.
He laughed a little to himself. 'This'd better be worth it'.
