Kaylee had made a point of doing all her final tweaking on the mule last night so that she wouldn't get her clothes too dirty before heading to the town with Deedlit. Finally, a girly fun shopping trip! She had been recently to have lunch with Simon but nothing beat acting really girly and fawning over pretty dresses with someone else who got it.

After leaving word for Deedlit to meet her by the castle's main entrance she packed her journal back in her messenger bag and slung it over her shoulder, the strap crossing her body, so she could hop on the mule and drive it over to the castle. It only took a few minutes and soon she was opening the door and looking around for Deedlit.

Shouldn't be too hard to find an elf. She knew what elves looked like ... well one particular elf. A short distance away there was a female with pointed ears ... very elf like actually. Kaylee started toward the female, smile on her face.

"Deedlit?"

Those very ears in question perked up at the sound of her name and she turned to her addresser. Deedlit had been admiring some random design on the castle's walls. For however old she seemed to humans, she was incredibly young for an elf, so she always took an almost too curious interest in little things.

"Hello!" she greeted sweetly, returning the smile. "You must be Kaylee." The concept of a handshake was human, so she didn't offer one. Instead, she just turned herself to face the other and regarded her quietly for a moment.

"Is your mule alright?" She asked. Of course, she had no idea that it was actually a machine and not an animal. There had already been so many surprises at this strange castle.

"Yep! I'm Kaylee," she said, her smile brightening. "Nice to meet ya outside the journal!"

That bright smile faltered slightly at Deedlit's question about the mule. Had Simon somehow spoken to her about how it broke down a couple times when they drove it to the town and back? She had worked out those kinks so that wouldn't happen again, especially since she was going with a new friend. The mule breaking down would put a damper on the day, though she was at least quick with her tools.

"Um, yep. Everythin's shiny. 's just outside." She pointed behind her at the main entrance doors. "All ready to go now?"

"Likewise!" Deedlit agreed. It was so nice to put someone's face to their writing, or voice as the case might have been. She had a feeling there were plenty of interesting residents to meet face to face.

The elf didn't really seem to catch Kaylee's falter, or if she did, she didn't respond to it. She was just looking after the 'mule''s health was all. "Okay! Good! I'm ready to go if you are!"

She stepped up a bit toward the door, her footsteps light. "I hope they have some good things!"
