Just when it seemed that things at home were settling, something different had come along, this time apparently out of anyone's league.
Finding himself being transported to another world wasn't something Tseng had been expecting - of course, that couldn't be something most would expect. However, now that he was here, it was a matter of adjusting and dealing with the situation, regardless of how strange it was. But then, no one was given much choice to do otherwise.
Something else that was less than expected was the revelation that the dead had a tendency to be resurrected here. Not only that, but a few notable formerly deceased, in particular, were already in this place. Sephiroth. The remnants. Aeris Gainsborough.
Sephiroth and that trio should have been closed chapters.
Aeris, on the other hand, couldn't be included in the same group. She wasn't someone Tseng had expected to speak to ever again - naturally - but her return was not unwelcome. And didn't she deserve it? This time, she could be free. No one in their right mind would repeat the past and Hojo didn't seem to be here.
Telling strangers about her kidnappers aside, she was surprisingly forgiving. Maybe he should have known that.
Tseng made his way downstairs, half wondering what to expect from meeting with Aeris Gainsborough in the kitchen of a castle, of all places.
