Speed walked back into his room still laughing and tossing the football around when he remembered his earlier plans for the day. He grabbed his journal out of habit more than anything else, likely about to make a note himself when he saw Stork's. Nodding his head, Speed didn't bother to make a reply, but simply set the football down and headed back outside his room.

Some minutes later he walked outside the castle and headed for the edge of the forest. It didn't take him long to spot the green furred kid--he wasn't actually sure if Stork were a kid or not, but he viewed him that way anyway--and redirect his path in that direction.

Shortly thereafter he was walking up with a low whistle on his lips as he glanced over the skimmer for the first time. He gave Stork a wave and stood off to the side of the bike to inspect it further.

"Nice ride. You'll have to help me paint it," he said with a sideways grin.

Finally. Stork put his journal in the bag he had crafted to keep it in and ran a hand along the skimmer. "Yeah, she's pretty sweet, isn't she? And yeah, sure... I'm pretty good at that."

He winced as Speed got a little too close for his comfort, but got over it pretty fast. He laced his fingers and pointed out, "You may want to move." He sat on the machine and pulled a lever located next to the handlebars of the bike. The side panels, adorned with a circular plate where a sky knight squadron shield would go, folded out, and from those panels folded out wings. Smaller panels underneath these also folded out, forming a four winged apparatus.

He looked under it, seemingly pleased with the result. "Usually, a shield unfolds over the front wheel and those jets in the back move... but since it's not in the air.... they didn't."

Speed did as he was told, giving the guy some room to show he could show Speed his thing. With the expansion of the wings Speed's eyes got a little bit wider as he watched. That was cool.

He walked around to the other side to get a full view before looking up at Stork. "Nice. What's with having a shield? Is this thing... made for battle?" he asked a little hesitantly. Boy, would that be precarious.

Stork closed the wings and revved the engine. He smiled. This was his element.

Stork blinked. "Well...." He paused. "Yes." He shrugged. "It happens. Atmos is always under attack by something or another...."

"Atmos being the world you come from," he stated more than asked. Speedle glanced at the shield again and tried to imagine what it would be like to battle in the sky. He shuddered not too visibly and shoved the thought aside.

"All right, let's hope the same isn't always necessarily true around here. I'd really rather not know what the ground feels like from so far up," the CSI said as he continued to look at the skimmer.

"Right." he said "All squadrons are required to have functional parachutes for that reason."

He looked up. "I don't think anyone is going to blow you out of the sky here... but just in case...." he handed Speedle a backpack. "Parachute."
