His door was open and he was inside reading over the entries that he'd missed - for one so social he wasn't really into the journal interaction, checked it two or three times a day - donning his specs. He kept glancing out the door, took a longer look when he thought he heard the lift doors open.

"Hello? Ten, stoppin' by to drag you down to Nine's for some hopefully productive charadin'."
His seriousness was promptly gone, replaced with a wide, tooth flashing grin.

"Yes, I've been expecting you!" He tossed the journal down onto his unmade bed, shooting it a reproachful look as though he'd only just noticed its messiness. Which he probably did.
He strolled over to Valentine, stashing his specs away as an afterthought. "Shall we, then?"
Reply
"Nine told you then? Great!"
Valentine backstepped out of the way and clapped his hands together. "Absolutely!" He dropped his hands to his side promptly after, causing them to be immediately hidden by the sleeves of his robe.

"So it's the three of us, then? Charades to get the message of Paradisa across?" Oh, he could see it now. This was going to either be very fun or turn out in disaster.
"Oh -- are we bringing Rose?" Since she was apparently the kind of girl who could keep them under control if all went nuts.

"Hadn't thought of it," he stated, cocking his head, "Think we ought to? Ooo, maybe we should. Should we?"
He zipped right over to the lift and then looked back at Ten. "What floor is she on?"
Reply
... Uh oh. "Um... ah, um..." He gave his head a scratch, thinking hard. She'd told him this! "Twenty... twenty... twenty six -- six? Twenty-six? I think it's twenty-six." He nodded in assurance. "Twooo-six."

He jabbed the up button for the lift and was quite pleased as it immediately opened. For once the bloody thing had not gone elsewhere within the span of a minute!
"Let's get goin'."
Of course, he sort of stuck his foot out so that if the silly doors tried to close, they'd realize that there was someone in the way and flail all about like most lifts tended to do.

"Well, then!"

"So. I ever get around to tellin' you who won the race me and Nine had?" It was just idle small-talk until they got up to Rose's floor, where they'd probably have to find what room she was in. It was rather silly, neither of them not really knowing exactly where she was, but trying to go and get her anyway.
"I know I mentioned it."
Reply
"You didn't tell me, no," he said, dropping his hand and looking at Valentine. He shrugged, grinning slightly at the imagery of Valentine and Nine in a footrace. "Who did win, then?"
Reply
He laughed for a moment, "Never doin' it again, either. You people and your two hearts, unfair advantage is what it is."
Reply
Because that was just unheard of, unless Nine was beginning to wear out with all this being-in-one-place business. And Ten really hoped not, because that would mean he was bound to follow.
"Not our fault you're human!" He grinned a little.
Reply
"Absolutely. He almost had me. Very close race, all the way through," Valentine paused, "Of course! He cheated too, though. Turns out, when you were him, you had the potential to be distracted by 'Look! An idiot!'."
Reply
At his final statement, Ten nearly glanced in the direction Valentine was pointing as he gestured out his words. Oh, but he wouldn't get him! "Ridiculous! Embarrassing, that is!" He made a 'pff' noise and waved a hand. "How'd he cheat, then?"
Reply
Valentine glanced to either side as he walked, looking for Rose's room.
"Hey, that's hers, right?" He stopped, and pointed at a door. It did, indeed, have 'Rose' written on the name... plaque thing.
