Tatsuki jammed her journal back in her pocket with a huff. She'd KNOWN Tyki would make a comment. Damn him! Tatsuki scowled and tried to concentrate on what duties she had been given, most of which were of the minor and tedious but necessary sort. Still, even if it wasn't much, she honestly wanted to help.
Even if her uniform had a skirt and looked ... "cute." Femininity my ass, she thought. This is just stupid. Tyki had another think coming if he thought she really wouldn't throw something at him the minute he showed up here.
Oh, she'd try to kill him. Tyki knew that much, but the chance to see Tatsuki dressed like that was so amusing, there was no way the Noah could let it pass. Good thing he had a Noah's power, or this could end up painfully.
It was only a short trip to the medics, luckily for him, and the walk didn't take long at all. Now was just the question of how to greet her. Though the temptation of sneaking up behind her and surprising her was strong, that risk weren't quite worth it for that one. Oh well, option two it was.
"Yo~ Tatsuki~ Came to see you in a skirt~" he said in a cheerful voice, stepping through the wall.
Tatsuki started visibly at Tyki's greeting - and sudden appearence through a wall. She stopped just seconds short of chucking her journal at his head and glowered at him.
"Yeah, I got that part," she gritted out. To her added chagrin, her cheeks felt a little warm - Damn it all! It wasn't often Tatsuki got flustered, but when she did, it showed, and it only made her angrier. Rather than toss a bedside table at him, she just stuffed her journal back in her pocket and crossed her arms over her chest.
"So, you saw me. That means you can LEAVE now, right?"
"Aww, What? No. I came all the way here, I'm going to enjoy the view," Tyki smiled at her sweetly. "And you look so adorable too, don't make me leave yet~"
Mostly a joke to annoy her, Tyki did mean it. Tatsuki didn't look half bad in the skirt. Though she seemed so much more natural in guy's clothing. Maybe that was just his thought process setting her aside as a boyish friend. It was sadly true that even though Tatsuki was a girl, Tyki would sometimes almost forget this fact. "I'm sure you're exciting all your patients right now, aren't you?" he asked. Ohhhh, she was going to make him pay for this later.
Tatsuki twitched. Visibly. Then she simply turned away from him to return to the task she'd been working at, fully planning on ignoring him, only to realize .. she had nothing to do.
She paused for a moment, then shot Tyki a dark look over her shoulder. "You're distracting me, for one. Health hazard." She stuck her tongue out at him. Honestly, she didn't know how she looked. She had refused to look in a mirror since she'd put this silly thing on.
But her eyes went wide at his last comment. She opened her mouth to say something, then shut it again after a moment after finding herself speechless. "YOU..!" she shouted, and instantly chucked her journal at his head, not caring if it hit or not.
Tyki blinked and gave her a slight smile as the journal sailed right through his left eye. That had been a hell of a reaction. Good thing he'd decided to wise up and keep himself in a less than solid state.
"Oh come on, me being here can't be that distracting. I know I'm quite a nice thing to look at, but I'm sure you have more self control than most about being able to focus on your work instead."
Tatsuki had more or less expected that, but she leveled him with her nastiest glare anyway. The comments! If he were ANYone else she would have pummeled him till he begged for mercy by now. Lacking that, all she could do was seethe, and that just made her angrier.
But she raised a brow at his last comment. Normally it would tick her off further, if that were possible, but since fists were useless, maybe.. she could turn this back on him. Maybe. So instead of growling at him, she arched a brow and looked bored. "Yeah, right," she said, flapping a hand. "You, distract me? Pft. I bet Axel would be, considering..." She made a vague gesture to encompass all those "accidental" kisses he'd told her about before, and just grinned brightly.
That got to him. Tyki stiffened up instantly, giving her a warning look, before relaxing back into his natural, calm demeanor. So it was going to be that way? Two could play at that game....If Tyki actually had any dirt on the girl. Well so much for that option.
He scowled for just a moment before smirking again. "Oh I don't know. He might be distracted first by how short that skirt is," the Noah commented pointing down at the skirt Tatsuki was wearing. "By the way, Tatsuki, you might want to pull it down some, it's showing a bit...More than you probably want." Complete and utter bullshit, but if Tatsuki bought it, that was all that mattered.
Tatsuki had to force down a grin of triumph at Tyki's initial reaction. Bingo. She knew she'd got him and would have rubbed it in his face.. but that would have ruined it. Though deep down, Tatsuki found herself suddenly very, very glad she had never told Tyki exactly what had happened between her and Ravi during the week the castle had driven her.. kind of crazy.
But the comment about her skirt length caught her off guard. She hadn't seen herself yet.. for all she knew, he could be right. Without thinking she fisted her hands in the hem of her skirt, trying to resist the urge to tug it down slightly, but her face gave her away. Her cheeks flamed under the glare she shot at him.
Tyki was not as subtle or kind with his win. A grin widely split over his face at Tatsuki's reaction as she tried to keep the skirt down. She might have gotten him for a minute, but he'd gained another win. A master in the art of pissing people off.
"Just try not to drop anything. I'd hate for you to have to bend down to pick it up and have a lewd patient have their eyes on you. But don't worry, I'll make sure to keep their lustful gazes off of you." He really needed to learn when to just shut up. Maybe he would...Someday.
Oh now that was a low blow, even for Tyki. That BASTARD! Tatsuki fought to keep her annoyance at his victory off her face. She had to find a way to turn the tables on him. But his comments kept her face hot, and taking back the reigns couldn't happen while she was blushing like she was.
"Well," she muttered, casting about for a way to get back at him, "I don't need your freaking help. Besides, didn't you say you were the one who was nice to look at? Maybe you should be worried about those, uh, lustful looks. Wonder what Axel would say if he saw people look at you like that~"
It was a stretch, but worth a shot.
A smile at first. Tyki couldn't care less about how many people stared at him. In fact, sometimes he encouraged lustful gazes. It was only at the comment about Axel that the smirk was wiped away. Damn, she really held a trump card with that one.
"I doubt he'd care," Tyki answered calmly, trying not to sound at all bitter. A few hints of his true feelings still carried over on his voice, despite his best efforts.
This time, Tatsuki did let her smile of triumph show through. She'd always have a way to get one up on him now.
But when she picked up on the bitterness in his voice she paused, and the smile slowly faded. Instead she raised a brow at him, lightly tapping a foot. "He probably would," she pointed out softly, her tone slightly more serious now.
Tyki snorted. "Why should he?" he asked calmly. "It's not like they're looking at him, they're looking at me. Not that I'm sure he doesn't get enough stares himself. Not sure if that's because people like to look at him, his hairs so read, or because he always has the most insane facial expressions," Tyki joked.
Jokes, jokes were always good. When you made a joke, you could easily avoid unpleasent things.
Tatsuki tapped her fingers on her arm, watching him evenly. It was a nice dodge, she had to admit. Totally covering over why it could bother Axel that Tyki might get stared at... she'd have to deliberately bring it back up if she wanted to press.
So she backed off the topic and shook her head, smiling a little. "Or maybe just because he's insane in general," she pointed out. "Now are you going to let me do the job I was assigned to do or are you going to keep poking fun at my skirt?"
"There is that too," Tyki agreed with a serious nod, though grinning as he gave it. "I guess I can't keep making fun of it forever," Tyki said with a sigh. "You may return to work~ Hope you don't expect me to leave though. I'm feeling so tired after my long journey here, and I don't think I'll be able to move from this spot for awhile."
Of course, almost anybody else would have offered to help Tatsuki take care of the patients at this time. Anybody else was not Tyki. He honestly didn't give a rats ass about them, if anything he sort of thought it would be more interesting if they really had died. Of course, telling Tatsuki that would not go over well with the girl, and thus now seemed like a good time to not comment on such matters.
She shot him a flat look and arched a brow. "I'm sure it won't kill you to walk up one flight of stairs, you lazyass," she deadpanned. "I'm NOT gonna go back to work while you sit there and make stupid comments about my skirt. Jeez, you're like a pervert of something."
Then she paused, holding back on the "or you could HELP me, you know" she'd been about to say. Tyki, help care for people? The irony was more jarring than she wanted to admit and she immediately buried the thought, instead going over to pick up her journal from the floor. After shooting a quick glance back at Tyki, she kneeled down to pick it up instead of reaching for it.
He smiled sweetly. "But I'm not an old pervert," he said cheerfully. "Those are the worst." Oh course he more than gladly ignored the comments about how short of a walk it was and about the skiry. If he got a chance he'd poke fun at her again.
He gave a mock frown as she kneeled. "Aww, going about picking it up that way? Now wheres the fun in that?" He made sure to make himself unsolid in case that journal came flying his way again.
"A pervert's a pervert," she replied flatly as she stood again. "And besides, you are old~ Or you should be, anyway." She stuck her tongue out at him at that.
She shot him a glare as she stuffed the journal back in her pocket. "Oh, bite me," she said, pulling a face. "It's not like you're disappointed."
"Maybe~" he paused with a lopsided grin. "How is twenty six old?" he asked. "And how 'should I be old'. I think I like being young plenty, thanks. I'll be old before you know it, don't worry."
"You never know," he said in a serious tone.
Tatsuki snorted. "Don't tell me you've forgotten the drawings already," she said with a grin of her own. Then she paused, peering at him narrowly. ".. actually, the idea of you really looking old is kind of creepy."
She gave him a flat, unimpressed look in response to his last comment. "Oh yeah right," she scoffed. "I'm pretty sure there's only one guy you have eyes for." She smiled wickedly at him.
Chuckling darkly and slightly annoyed sounding, he avoid saying anything about the drawing, instead moving on in the conversation. "With a face like this, old age would be a disappoint," he agreed, nodding.
"I have eyes for plenty of women," Tyki said calmly, frowning at her. "Don't try to suggest that I'm gay."
Tatsuki snickered in response to his annoyance. Hey, she could keep playing this little game they had going, if she needed to. "No, it'd just be creepy," she said lightly.
Tatsuki's eyebrows shot up at that, though. She just stared at him for a second, blinking, and then promptly burst out laughing.
It took about a minute for her to calm down and regain her breath before she grinned lopsidedly at him. "Oh no, Tyki," she said, her voice dripping sarcasm, "I'd never suggest anything like that."
"Suit yourself in your opinion. It's the castle that would be losing out in good looks if I was old. Don't need anyone to try and tell me otherwise," he said, smiling confidently. There was no way an egotistical ass like Tyki was going to be told otherwise.
Tapping his foot on the ground, he gave Tatsuki an irritated look. "Oh no, of course you wouldn't. Why would I think you'd ever do something like that?" She better be kidding with this. Tyki had proof that he liked women, sadly his seven pieces of evidence were back home.
Tatsuki rolled her eyes. "What a loss," she said, without any conviction whatsoever. "I'm sure there'd be people mourning in the hallways and all that." She wanted to wipe that stupid grin off his face, just because it annoyed her, but she grudgingly let it go.
But she smirked at his irritated look. It was just priceless. "Beats me," she said as innocently as she could manage. "But hey, I think Axel might know~" If he thought she was ever going to let him live that down, ever, he had another thing coming.
"It is a loss, and I'm sure they would be. People would be crying their eyes out over it," he informed her. Of course, jokingly, but still, the idea amused him.
"I'm sure Axel would be as baffled as to why you would say something along those lines himself." Damn, was she going to keep using that? Tyki was starting to hate the fact that she even knew Axel's name.
Tatsuki snorted and deadpanned, "Sure, I'm sure they'd fill the hallways with their tears." She couldn't help rolling her eyes.
At that, she gave him a wicked grin. "Oh, sure he would. OR he might know exactly what I was talking about~" She snickered. "Have I ever told you you suck at lying? Since you do."
She flapped a hand at him in a kind of "shoo" motion then. "Seriously, leave. I do actually have stuff to do, unlike you."
"They would," Tyki agreed nodding. "It would be a sad day for everyone. It better not happen." He gave her his best 'I'm innocent, really' smile.
"I do not," Tyki frowned heavily, he didn't want to talk about that.
Looking up at her, he paused before replying. "I have something to do," he said. "I'm watching the patients." And at that, Tyki literally stared at the sleeping face of the person closest to him, giving them a blank look of mock consentration.
She raised a brow at his "innocent smile," which on him just failed miserably. "Don't smile like that, it just makes you look weird," she informed him.
"Yeah. Yeah you do~" she said with a grin, but left it at that.
Tatsuki shot him a sideways glance at that, raising both eyebrows now. After a pause, she burst out laughing. "You are incredibly weird." She waved a hand in front of his face, trying to break his gaze, grinning. "Now leave before I have to blackmail you into it~"
He chuckled, but refrained from giving the "weird" smile anymore.
He smirked and looked away for the sleeping patient at last. Alas, boredom did seem to make him that way. He looked startled for a moment at Tatsuki's next comment. "You wouldn't," Tyki frowned, giving her an at ease bored look.
Tatsuki just stuck her tongue out at him, clearly amused. "Nah, you know I'd never," she said honestly. "There'd be no end to the amount of trouble that kind of thing'd cause. But implication can go a long way," she added, trying an innocent look of her own. "Now scram."
Finally standing up, Tyki gave Tatsuki a last smirk before stretching his arms out in front of himself. "Fine, fine," he yawned. "It was getting boring anyway." Reaching over, he ruffled her hair before lazily walking off, back up to his room.
