“Good day to you both.” The cat purred in a tone that did little to show his inner eagerness. He rose from his place with a languid stretch and a yawn that flashed tiny, perfectly white needle teeth set in a vividly pink mouth. Settling on his haunches, he tucked his inky black tail around his paws with a dignified air, and turned his attention to the strange pair. The elf, Drizzt, was an amusing sight; purple eyes, white hair, skin as dark as night. Certainly more interesting than most of the humans he came across, but no where near as enthralling as the panther that accompanied him.

Now, all cats were in some way aware of their massive ancestors and relatives, but very few ever got the chance to see one unless they happened to hold territory including, or overlapping, a zoo. While the cat was generally a very composed, aloof sort of tom, and now was no exception, his tail twitched against his leg at his inner delight and apprehension in seeing one of his massive kin. She was gargantuan and the cat. even though he was a sizable example of his species, immediately felt dwarfed. The fact she had a name bothered him immensely, but he was quite willing to ignore that for the time being.

Green eyes raked over the two, the black leather of the cats nose twitching slightly as he took in their scents. Thankfully both the elf and the panther lacked buttons, or the scent of the Other Mothers greasy black rats, and he was calmed. In an oddly human gesture, he bowed his head in a nod.

“I suppose I should offer you a seat?” he said, almost managing to sound bored, directing his gaze toward a chair pushed up against the wall near the door.

"I thank you for your hospitality," Drizzt responded, moving over to the chair and taking a seat. Some may have been startled to find themselves faced with a cat that could speak, but Drizzt was not. Throughout his life, he had encountered many unusual and wonderful things, both in the Underdark and on the surface, and coming here had been no exception.

Guenhwyvar stepped forward, ears pricked and tail lifted in curiosity. The scent of the cat was both familiar and alien, speaking clearly of worlds that the panther had never walked. Closer to the black cat, Guen sat back on her haunches, looking at him with large, saucer-like golden eyes.

Drizzt gave the cat a moment to study them before asking, “Do you find us to be real? Or do you require further examination?” There was little else Drizzt could think of to offer the cat. He could touch them, feel their solidity and immediacy in the world. Drizzt could speak about their homeland, describe the world from which they had come. Or, if it became necessary, he could show the cat his blood. He was not certain what fake people appeared like in the cat’s world, but in his own, things that were not alive did not bleed.
