The mattress idea had been a brilliant one - he had vague memories of using pillows to slide down stairs when he and Jasdero were younger, but the prospect of a bigger sled and a bigger set of stairs made those childhood adventures pale in comparison.

Of course, getting the mattress to the stairs proved to be harder than they had anticipated. "You're just standing there, you're not pullin' anything!" Debitt growled to his twin, giving the mattress a solid shove to his left, just to be difficult.

Today had been nice so far. Leo had gotten up that day with a headache, but so far, nothing too strange or terrible at all had crossed the lion-boy's path.
He'd skimmed through the journal a bit, talked to some wacko who couldn't draw, eaten a light meal, watched two anorexic kids haul a mattress up the stairs...

Wait, what?

Leo did a double take, and stopped in his tracks, looking down at the sight before him from where he stood just above.

"What...the hell are you guys doin'?"

"Debitt, stop it!" It was a bit whiny, but the mattress was a pain in the ass to pull already without his brother making it even harder. "Jasdero is pulling!"

Jasdero looked over his shoulder at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, forgetting to keep holding his end of the mattress as he did so and barely paying attention as it started sliding toward Debitt. "Moving a mattress. What does it look like Jasdebi is doing?" Oh, whoops- He jumped to grab his end of the giant sled again, looking just a bit sheepish.

Debitt swore as he felt the full weight of the mattress slide towards him. "You're not pullin' right now!" he snapped, throwing all his weight into the sled, lest it flatten him before careening back down the stairs.

"Get outta the way," he growled to the newcomer. He paused for a moment to sigh with relief as Jasdero grabbed the mattress again. "This is heavy enough as it is."
