Who: Lana, Loz What: Loz is hurt and true to himself has done nothing to clean/bandage the wounds so Lana takes it upon herself (of course she does) When: Now Where: Loz's Room Rating: PG-13?
Lana picked up the neosporin and bandage again and began putting some on it while shaking her head. "That's terrible..to think that your own BROTHER would want to do something that atrocious to you. It's disgusting."
She felt anger boiling up inside of her at the very thought of it. The thought of any one of them being harmed at all much less killed struck a sour chord inside of her. She stopped and took a deep breath to quiet the anger before she touched Loz again. She lay the medicated bandage over a couple of the smaller cuts. The neosporin was cool and would feel nice against the inflamed skin. She continued to do this as she pondered the situation.
She then put an amount of it on her finger and swiftly and as gently as possible slid it along the inside of the biggest gash. It would have hurt a bit but not a terrible amount and it was very fast. She then turned and looked at what else was on the bed. She reached down and picked up the curved sutureing needle then stared at it. She looked from it to Loz to it again then gave a small shudder and put it back down in favore of butterfly bandages. They weren't as strong and they certainly wouldn't stay on as well but they also didn't involve jabbing a needle through the skin of a man who could destroy her without the smallest amount of effort.
She took several of the bandages and unstuck the sticky parts, sticking them by the smallest corner all along her forearm so she'd be able to not worry about holding a wound shut and unwrapping bandages at the same time.
She looked down at the gash and took a deep, slightly nervous breath before looking at Loz. "Now...Loz...what I have to do next is going to hurt... it's probably going to hurt a lot...but it will be really fast and it will really help. You'll have to trust me, though. I won't make it worse, I'll only be trying to fix it, okay?"
Hurt? Loz didn't like the sound of that. He kept his hand on her forehead, his green eyes fixed on her. "No," he said sharply, keeping her slightly out of range with the hand on her forehead. She'd have to bribe him to get close enough.
Lana sighed and looked at him sadly. The very last thing in the world she wanted to do to this...man? Boy? Man-boy, was to hurt him. She thought for a moment, "Well....if you were willing to let me do it I might give you some of your candy early for being so cooperative..." She trailed off then lowered her hands, "but...I guess if you don't want to..."
Oh another hard hit from Lana. She was getting really good at this. He released his grip on her head. "Fine," he gave in. He wanted that candy and for some reason he felt more agreeable than normal. The codene must've been affecting his aggressive side.
Lana got off of the bed and grabbed two or three candy bars then brought them over and resumed her position. She looked at Loz and held her hands out over the wound, setting her fingertips very gently around it. "Are you ready, Loz?"
"No," Loz replied, shoving one of the candy bars into his mouth, "but do it anyway." Doing it before he changes his mind would be incredibly wise for her. While he was slightly docile, he still was extremely agressive, especially when it came to pain. Pain tended to make him grumpy anyway.
Lana took a very deep breath herself then with shocking swiftness pushed the flesh together and plop, plop, plop, very rapidly put the bandages in place. She pressed the edges down on each of the bandages then sat back, looking distressed. She'd learned to be very quick and precise with these sorts of things. Loz reminded her of a very agressive, sensitive horse and that was how one had to doctor an animal like that.
She looked down to see his reaction, smiling weakly, "I'm sorry."
Loz flinched at the touch but it wasn't as bad as he had expected. He had chocolate to keep him distracted, which was a very wise choice on Lana's behalf, and kept him from being tempted to wring her neck.
He looked down at the strips now across his chest. They kept the wound shut somehow and he didn't get it. He poked at it and it felt funny, but it kept together. Maybe touching wasn't always so bad? Maybe not. Lana was best to not press her luck.
Lana watched him poking at the sealed wound then grabbed a few more butterfly strips and put them on for good measure. She then took a roll of gauze-wrap and wiggled back a little, "Alright will you sit up for me now, Loz? We're almost done I promise."
"No more pain, right?" Loz asked, sitting up. The codene had taken quite the docile effect on him. Normally he would've fussed by now, have wrung her neck for causing him pain. He didn't know what inhibition was, it wasn't written into his being. He only knew when to stop when one of his brothers told him to.
Lana smiled at him, "No, I won't hurt you anymore."
She leaned forward and began to wrap the wrap around him. When she'd finished she placed a clip on it to keep it in place then sat back to examine her handiwork. That ought to do.
She set the gauze down, "There, all done." She got up and went to get Loz's bag of candy. She set it down next to him then sat on the edge of the bed, "Now, Loz I really need you to not mess with these bandages and I'm going to have to keep checking on them for the next few days....." She paused and thought for a moment, "I will bake you a cake each day if you promise not to bother with them and let me make sure they're alright for a few days. I'll also bring you more of the stuff that makes the pain go away when I come."
Loz watched her cautiously as Lana wrapped his torso. The temptation to poke at the bandages was great but the offer of homemade cake for each day kept him from touching it, at least for now. Loz nodded. "cake now?"
Lana shook her head, "I don't have any cake now, you'll have to survive off of candy. But tomorrow if you leave your bandages alone I PROMISE you'll get cake and I'll tell Kadaj that you were really good and he'll be happy with you."
She smiled at him cheerfully, "Oh and later if it starts to hurt again let me know and I'll bring you some more of the stuff that makes the pain stop."
She was NOT going to leave Codeine in a two year old's room. No thank you.
Cake tomorrow? And Kadaj would be happy with him? Well as long as she followed through, he'd be happy. He'd have to be mindful of not touching them, and with his short attention span that might be a pretty big challenge. But he wanted Kadaj to see him as somewhat smart, especially after Kadaj called him an idiot again, so that was quite motivating in itself.
Lana picked up her mess and Brutus came to take the scraps from her. She disappeared to wash her hands again. She appeared, shaking her hands vigorously to aid them in the drying process then gave Loz a little smile. "Alright, Loz, I'm going to go now. Let me know if the pain killer wears off, alright?"
She winked at him, "I'll be back to check on you tomorrow and I'll bring cake!"
She waved at him cheerfully before disappearing out the door with Brutus on her heels. The door clicked shut and her face fell slightly again. It was partially with relief and partially with her previous emo. It wasn't so easy to hide without someone around to remind her to hide it.
She thanked Brutus again before she returned to sulk in her room.
