[The sound of a pair of TARDII warping in disturbs the bucolic peace of this place. The doors come open and the travelers, some perhaps a little worse for the wear after that abrupt trip, walk out into the morning sunshine.

[The moment the TARDIS touched down, River Song was one of the first ones to head out and explore. With a backpack slung over her shoulder, a knife strapped to her hip Her wild mass of untamed blonde curls pulled back into a manageable pony tail. She's the furthest out from the TARDIS and she seems pretty fearless about trekking these uncharted regions.]

[Steps out next to her, adjusting his bow tie with a grin.]

Ready for some adventure?

Do you really have to ask?

[Glancing around, she takes scope of the landscape]

Does the sonic screwdriver even work out here?

Nope, but that's half the fun, now, isn't it?

[He smirks. Which question was that referring to? That's anyone's guess. He tweaks her nose and starts walking.]

[She rolls her eyes at him, but at the same time she can't help smiling when he pokes her nose. Swatting at his hand, she swiftly follows]

Didn't think so. My scanner went offline too. We're really roughing it here.

[chuckles] We are. That's why they call it the dead zone after all.

I'm loving it!

[She breaks stride with him, taking the lead easily]

[He notices that and amusedly lets her lead. He saunters along a step behind and to the side of her, hands in his pockets as he looks at everything]

I thought you might.

[River had never been the type to just docilely follow the Doctor's lead. Oh no, she had quite the independent spirit]

Oh, what's not to like? We're on an adventure together.

And one where neither of us has any idea what's going to happen or where we'll end up.

Sounds like every exciting adventure we've ever been on together.

[Five comes jogging up alongside her, after losing his parrot in the trees a ways back]

You know, I'd ask you to wait up, but I doubt there'd be much point.

[She laughs and no, she doesn't slow her pace one bit. Climbing the sprawling hills easily, drifting further and further away from the TARDIS. Just a blue speck in the distance]

Sooo, impressions thus far, Dr. Song? [he'll keep up with her easily, of course, though he's letting his gaze linger on the peculiarities of the landscape]

No signs of dangerous life forms.
