THE AUDITORIUM

Instead of a ballroom, this place seems to have a grand auditorium, instead, with a stage with moulding velvet drapes and hundreds of carved wooden chairs, the upholstery gone.

It looks like someone did a real number on it, though; something huge ripped a path through the middle, leaving scrap wood everywhere.

[furriendly]

[Nepeta is crouched in the middle of that path, looking for anything that stands out at all.]

I wonder what was big enough to do this without leaving behind any tracks?

[Ray's got his thumbs hooked in his belt-loops, surveying the mess]

I dunno, but whatever it was, it got whatever it wanted and moved on, or it would've trashed the place a lot more than it did....

That .... well, that's sure one heckuva mystery. Maybe we can follow the trail an' find out? ... Oh, and hey, name's Ray. Nice to meet'cha.

I'm Nepeta! [She's already turning back toward the trail now, flagging him over] Come on! Let's see where it goes.

Yeah, sure! [he picks his way around the debris, scooping up a piece or two as he goes - stuff that looks like it was close to whatever caused it, and might still yield readings once he gets it back to the castle proper]

Judgin' by the direction all the wood came up in - it looks like it was headed this way ...
