Lente's Point Expedition - Night 1

[The day begins to come to a close as the expedition presses on. The coming darkness is even more obvious in the dim light of the canopy, and it soon becomes clear enough that a halt would have to be called.

Felix kicks his horse forward so that he's near the head of the group. Hopefully, with people wandering off here and there to investigate they'

AROUND THE CAMPFIRE

[Camp is set and everyone is finally getting settled. The forest is mostly silent tonight. Time to relax, sit around the fire and enjoy some food - perhaps you're enjoying Galadriel's Lembas or cooking up something of your own. It's a good time to compare notes and toss around some theories about this strange place.

Who knows what will happen tomorrow?]

[Allen is currently sitting at the campfire, watching it and occasionally tending it by poking it with a stick. He looks a bit lost in thought, but not unapproachable! Mostly he's just thinking on the past few days]

[lord_wizard]

[He's barely had a chance to speak to Allen, so he'll take a seat near the pensive young man]

Something on your mind?

Ah-

[he'll blink and look over, giving a smile]

Not really! Just reflecting on the day!

[He'll get a warm smile back]

This place is certainly not what I expected.

What is it that you did expect?

[He smirks, glancing at the fire]

I suppose I don't know. Given the environment of the previous expeditions, this doesn't entirely follow. Though expecting Paradisa to follow any kind of logic is probably pointless.

Mm, it's true. None of the different areas we've covered are quite the same. I mean a few times they seemed to be prairies...and then last year it was a forest so thick we couldn't even see daylight.

[lord_wizard]

And a swamp, yes?

[save_the_souls]

Yeah.

It was a pain having to sleep in the boats with everyone...and then we lost so much of our food too. [He makes that sound like that that is the most tragic thing to have ever happened to him in his life]

[lord_wizard]

That does sound like an inconvenience. How did that happen?

[save_the_souls]

We got attacked by a giant zombie pig.

[lord_wizard]

Ah. That incident. Five told me about it.

[He looks into the fire a moment. He knows that trip went badly, and he doesn't want to bring up too many bad memories]

I suppose it's a bit foolish, but this area seems rather less hostile.

[save_the_souls]

[Oh please those memories are nothing compared to his real traumatic memories]

Ah...yes, so far we've been lucky about that.

But still...in the Dead Zone you never want to let down your guard.

[He nods] That is why I recommended watches.

Mm, watches are for the best.
