41: there were bells, all around, but I never heard them ringing...

Sep 25, 2009 10:56

[the journal is lying next to Risika as she sleeps... and then a renegade breeze opens it. At first, there's only the sound of someone breathing in sleep, but as the noise from the journal wakes her and she stirs, there's a faint tinkling of bells... and then one loud gong as she completely wakes up and immediately does a once-over of her room and everything she normally pays attention to.]

That... sound. Where did it come from?
[she's talking to herself a little confusedly, and she sheets rustle as she pulls them back and gets out of bed. The light tinkling has continued, getting louder as she sends out tendrils trying to find the source of the noise.]

There it is, louder now...

[and as she redoubles her efforts, it becomes something like a bell choir, pretty, but without a noticeable tune]

Wait. [she retracts everything, and there we go! practically silence.]
It's me? This is either a really terrible practical joke, a dream, or a poor excuse for a loss. Sometimes I can't believe the levels this Castle stoops to.

[and then she notices the journal]

And it was being recorded. Wonderful.
