It doesn't look too complicated - he just has the cards layed out in front of him and he's murmuring numbers to himself as he plays cards, wins or loses, then resets the game. [came down to the kitchen earlier for a drink, but the strange shadow cat on the wall disturbed him. so now, after a stroll in the garden, he comes back to try and find something to eat. the door to the kitchen opens very, very, very slowly, and the brim of a black fedora slides into view, followed by a pair of very wide, cautious eyes that slide back and forth....]

[Atton glances up, the sound of the door creaking open grabbing his attention. He raises a brow and then shrugs.]

...you know, it's not booby-trapped.

[clears his throat and steps in, cautiously] Thank you. I hadn't even considered the possibility of traps. Perhaps I should, from now on - it's a good thought.

Actually, I was seeing if the cat was gone. And it is. Which is a small comfort, next to the possibility of traps, elsewhere.
