Day 8

Aug 18, 2009 23:13

[Olimar is climbing around in the fridge again. He's taken it upon himself to clean the more curious biological specimens out of the back, and he's idly dictating to his journal as he does so.]I have noticed trends in the coming and going of Paradisa residents. It seems as though people will arrive several at a time, and vanish several at a time, ( Read more... )

[York is also in the kitchen rummaging around for food, cause that's what he does.]

Hey, Olimar. What you got there? Hope nobody's eating it....

Good day, York! This is some sort of soured cream product, in which several colourful varieties of mold have begun to grow. I thought I would study it further and, ah, prevent anyone from trying to eat it.

[takes a sniff and makes gagging sounds]

Note for your records: does not smell edible! [He does poke around at some guacamole, though, which looks perfectly fine.] Kinda makes me want some Mexican food, though.

I thought it seemed dubious! But considering the tastes of some residents, I couldn't be sure ...

Mexican ... I seem to recall reading about an area of Earth with a similar name. [He'll just peer around you and watch the rummaging, York.]

[ Well, after look around with Akito, the wolf has taken to wandering around by herself. It seemed like the best of ideas to her because how else is she going to learn this place? Because she might as well get used to this place as well as she can and accept with good graces that unless a way becomes available, escaping is a big no-no.

So, here, have a wolf wandering into the kitchen to look for something to eat. Because this wolf is a glutton and will eat anything that is presented before her. ]

...rrrr?

[ However, seeing someone roaming around a fridge and going in and out of it slightly confuses her. ]

[Still looking at the sour cream.] One of these is quite a bit more ... robust than typical specimens. I shall call it Aspergillus largus. It appears to be a mutated variety of--

[He glances up to the largest dog-like creature he's ever seen. And startles, nearly dropping the tub.]

Oh, goodness!

[ Oops! She didn't mean to startle him so the wolf kind of makes a sound in attempt to apologize. Too bad Issun isn't here, she knew full well he'd apologize for her. Maybe. In that special way of his...

However, she gives a slight tilt of her head at the object in his hand and wonders just what it is he is talking about. Mutated variety? Of what. She steps forward and wonders if it would be okay to smell it or not. ]

Remarkable! I have never seen a canid of such size! She is just standing here ...

[He trails off as the wolf approaches, and stares up at her.]

... standing here before me, apparently curious about local foods?

I've noticed that, as well, Olimar... I'm glad to hear you're doing well after all that happened.

And, yes ... I find people ask for more than they can use or consume, sometimes, and leave it about to decay. That's why I'm usually more fond of the TARDIS kitchen.

It's reassuring to hear from you, as well, Doctor.

It is all too easy to abuse the generosity of the castle ... But the idle atmosphere of daily life seems to cause all sorts of oversights. I must say that your ship is remarkable example of order, from what I could see!

Why, thank you! I'll tell her you said so. ... I have to admit, I can't keep milk very well in the TARDIS for some strange reason, so I do have to come to the kitchen on a regular basis to fetch that.

The TARDIS has a consciousness? Amazing! I didn't hear a word from it the entire time I was there ...

Really, only milk?

[And stopping. A TINY MAN JUST WALKED OUT OF THE FRIDGE]

... Nya? Asparagus?

It is rare to see multiple varieties of mold cohabitating in such-- [He looks up. Oh, it's a rather tall feline anthropoid.] Ah, hello.

What's asparagus doing in the sour cream? That's gross nya.

Aspergillus, actually. It is this fuzzy-looking mold growth, not a vegetable!

[Haha, what a charming misconception! Just like ... just like a child. She. What.]

... Pardon me, but would you happen to be Tao?
