[Dictated from her place at a kitchen table, a cup of tea in her hands.]

Is Paradisa a blessing or a curse? It seems to be one or the other depending on who you speak with. More often than not I hear others complaining about it, wishing they would be sent home.

If that's so, why is it we mourn those who are returned? If Paradisa is keeping us from our destinies, why do we treat it as punishment to return to the whole from which we came? Shouldn't we be celebrating for them? After all, they no longer have to endure the pain brought upon by the castle, and they're no longer subject to its trickery.

I understand that not everyone comes from a pleasant time in their life. I myself was taken at the moment of my death. But we cannot escape our fates forever. Paradisa is temporary, delaying the natural order of life.

When we mourn the return of our friends, does that make us selfish that we wish they would remain here with us longer? To endure more losses and more hardships they might otherwise not experience?

[She takes a sip as she thinks over her own questions.]
