[Raine wishes Lloyd would take notes from this girl!]

Of course I'd be happy to teach you something. Have you ever been interested in archaeology?

I haven't really thought about it at all.

The castle is an excellent place to start, too. There are many different kinds of architecture in the rooms and halls, reflective of the many cultures that have sent one or more people here. Why, just a few weeks ago an annoying girl was blasting holes in the hallway on my floor because she thought it would let evil spirits out.

Yes! It's one of the few things we can learn from the castle itself. Granted, much of the architecture here is difficult to identify for me because it's different from what we have in my world, but it's also fun to look through books of pictures from other cultures. Every time I identify someting new, I feel as if I've accomplished something.

I'd be happy to point out some of the more prominent features, if you like.

Mhm! It'll be good to look around some more.

It would be a good use to put your camera too, as well. You can compare photos directly instead of with only sketches and memory.

I like that idea. I've been meaning to put it to use.

I would suggest starting out with the arches and columns in the lobby. They're large and easy to identify from a picture. If you like what you do there, I can show you some other interesting features that I haven't been able to identify yet and we can work on them together!

Do you mean work out where they came from?

Or what inspired them. Why they're here. What purpose do they serve? The first thing you learn about archaeology - nothing is without meaning. And if we can find the meaning behind anything in this place, well, it's time and effort well spent, I think.
