[Nathan makes a note to talk to this Doctor Owen Harper about Harold Saxon, because really he's only spoken to Lucy.]
I admit that waking up in my home this morning was a pleasant surprise, but the castle does tend to at the very least make you comfortable before it rips the rug out from under you. Before arriving here in Paradisa, I was elected to Congress, but eventually gave up my seat due to personal family issues, I thought I had lost my brother and was in no state to take on the office I had been elected to. That very fact, that I was willing to do whatever was best for the country instead of looking to my own political career still to me speaks higher of my character.
Still you're right, you don't know me and I don't know you, but I know what it is to think you have something special to give to the world, to those around you. I know how it feels to believe that someone should listen to what you want to say, and that even just having that hope of some sort of change is a good feeling.
It's a lot to undertake, but I've seen amazing things in Paradisa. I will be the first to admit I'm not it's biggest supporter. It takes things from us, it changes our environments on a whim, but it has also given us a chance to see what might have been. I've seen how newcomers are welcomed easily and given courtesy and help regardless of who they are or what they might have done before. For many it's a second chance at life, and so many of them take it with a great deal of excitement.
The castle put us here, it gave us our jobs, it told us to make ourselves into the population of a great city that I've grown up in. We're all doing just that, and I'm certain that when you vote? You won't vote because the castle told you to, you'll vote because you'll believe that you do count.
We all count, and we all have so much more to offer everyone else.
