It does. It's a role holding political power.

Well, I was Prince of the Fire Nation for sixteen years and heir apparent to the throne.

With the way that you put it, I take it you had lost the title as heir to the throne?

[expiations]

I renounced it when I left my country.

[tastefulfashion]

And why did you leave your country?

[expiations]

I disagreed with my father and his war so I left to fight against him so I could help bring peace back among the four countries.

I see. You forfeited a birthright in hopes for a greater cause.

[expiations]

I guess that's one way to put it, yes.

[tastefulfashion]

And you do not regret your decision? No doubts to bring on second thoughts because of this?

[expiations]

Never one. I know this is my destiny.

I never could bring myself to either believe or trust in destiny.

[expiations]

Really? Is it an uncommon belief in your world?

[tastefulfashion]

No, it isn't that. There were a number of races, including many of my own, that believed it. For me I could never feel at ease with the concept of not being in control of what I do---it has brought me enough trouble as it has already.
