Hello, Yuan.

I'm not sure you saw my conversation with Martel. Did you?

...I'm afraid I must have missed that.

She's worried that I had died. I can't tell her how. I don't want her to get worried, so I lied to her that I hadn't died.

I...can understand that. I don't like the thought of lying to her that way, but there also seems little point in worrying her.

What I wonder is why we're having a civil conversation about this at all.

I'd thought she would be used to war and death, but her soul is that fragile.

. . .

I thought that myself. I don't know either.

She's stronger than she seems, but those she cares about have always been her weakness.

I'm not complaining, mind you. It's a nice change from the insanity.

I wish she understood the future.

[Empty pause] No complaints here. I'm rather. . .relaxed.

So do I. I tried to explain, but she doesn't hear me. She can't believe that any of us could have done such wrong.

As I said, it's a nice change.

She's a pure soul. Her ideals still stands, so let her believe as it stands now, untainted by Cruxis.

An empty change though. My soul felt like it's missing something.

I suppose that is the best course.

...It's probably your loss, then. That would explain it.

. . .

Indeed.
