[A handwritten entry in neat, slightly loopy handwriting.]This place is very backwards. My own husband doesn't know me and the Doctor wants to be friends. I've had an earlier self of Harry's come to rifle through my memories so I could prove I was really his wife. As if I would lie about such a thing ( Read more... )

Why is that backwards -- the part that the Doctor wants to be your friend?

It is a way to end a sentence in Japan that is considered polite. It's nice to see that everyone suddenly wishes to be polite.

He shouldn't want to be my friend, logically, desu. I'm his enemy's wife, desu.

Is it really, desu? Oh, this is annoying, writing it after everything, desu.

I would see how that would make sense. I wonder why he wants to be your friend. For surveillance purposes?

It is. It seems like everyone thinks that. I am not sure if I feel the same way.

I don't think so, desu. I think he'd rather just not be enemies, desu.

Why aren't you affected, desu?

I don't know desu. I just want to be normal, desu.

So would I, desu.

I don't blame you, Lucy, desu.

[a pause and an annoyed groan]

I can more or less guarantee to you, desu, that whatever Harold told you about me was either a lie or the manipulated truth, desu.

Oh! And 'desu', it's Japanese, desu. In the language it's used at the end of a sentence to be polite, desu. Just sounds awkward at the end of an English sentence, desu. [scratched out multiple times in irritation]

Of course you wouldn't remember what you told her, desu. You don't remember her, after all, desu. But you must've said something for her to have such a dislike for me, desu, since I can't imagine why otherwise. Desu.

Chan annoyed you, did it, tho, desu? :D

Which-- Oh, Ten. Not surprising, he makes friends with everyone.

So who are you then?

He only made friends with us when he was crazy, desu.

I suppose the term 'surreal' isn't quite powerful enough, desu. At least the lights are harmless, desu.

Though I must say I don't enjoy having my writing manipulated, desu.

Neither do I, desu. My hand just keeps writing it out, even though I try not to, desu.

You won't hear me say this often, but I think it's best to simply accept it, desu. It seems to be one of the castle's tamer tricks, desu. It will only bother us if we let it, desu.

Does the castle like to play with everyone often, then, do you think, desu?
