Anything exciting I should be looking too for New Year's in the castle? I have to figure, if I've learned anything in the past 9 months, it's that the place is pretty reliable in its traditions. It might be nice for someone to pass out a memo so the rest of us can brace ourselves accordingly.

I actually had a nice Christmas. I don't know how you couldn't enjoy Paris.

A slightly larger cage doesn't stop it from being a cage, Lana. It wasn't Paris. [ It was the castle faking Paris and keeping them there. It was a game. And Damon had come to hate games. ] It wasn't even real.

I know that. But it was still a little bit nostalgic for me, and all things considered, I had a good time. But you haven't experienced all the past world changes, so you don't know just how bad they can get.

This last week went incredibly smoothly for everyone. Even the convicts being free didn't result in any deaths.

The castle has been known to make all liquids available extremely alcoholic. Last year some have got quite inebriated on water alone.
