[Paris isn't that bad, come to find out. Confusing as hell how he keeps running into people, but he's an expert in not thinking too deeply about these things. Spike seems to be one of the lucky guys who woke up there speaking French by default, so getting around isn't any trouble. And if the time he's been in Paradisa taught him anything, it's to ( Read more... )

On the street because that's how I roll itwas_raining December 24 2011, 18:07:30 UTC
[Guess who happens to be passing along on the street right at that moment? The flower shop wasn't far from a local bakery that Julia had discovered not too long ago, and that's just where she so happens to be coming from. Paris came with plenty of interesting novelties, and maybe she'd found that the cuisine was one of her favorites.

With an armful of baguettes, she comes to a stop as she catches sight of something a short distance away: a very familiar outline stepping onto a motorcycle. She stands quietly, just watching him for a few moments, a small smile creeping onto her face.

Eventually, though, she decides to interrupt this very tranquil scene and make her presence known by moving to stand in front of the motorcycle. There are pressing questions that need answering.]

Where'd you get this? [Like that, obviously.]

[Spike is totally okay with this turn of events. It's not often that they work out in his favor, so he has a genuine grin on his face when she walks in front of him. (Paris looks good on her, okay?)]

New job. [That's a ridiculous thing to say, but that's what makes it so amusing. There's no telling if he's seriously considering fulfilling his duties here.] Seems like it's the fastest way to get around.

... why does that sound like it could be a bad rap song itwas_raining December 24 2011, 19:18:38 UTC
[If she knows him at all, she's willing to place her bets on him not seriously considering to actually be responsible. Her smile widens, like it's some kind of private joke between them, before her eyes move to examine the machine in more detail.]

Faster than walking, at least.

[It might not have been the first one Spike would have picked out, but at least it's the right color. Anyway, she should know that there's really only one way to examine these things.]

Want to find out?

[She pauses in (possible mock) ponderance, just to let the right amount of time pass. Of course she wants to find out. And does she really have anything else she'd rather be doing today anyway?]

Is that part of the job description?

why would you want to take this away, livejournal gottaknockhard December 24 2011, 19:41:22 UTC
[It's only fair; he did let her drive the last time. Also, she's free to take that helmet that he's holding, since he's pretty much not going to risk getting his hair messed up for this.]

I could talk to them into adding a chauffeur service.

don't they know the best conversations happen in the subject lines :( itwas_raining December 24 2011, 19:50:06 UTC
[Well, it's hard to take anything when you've got your hands full. She gently sets the spoils of her shopping trip onto the ground and accepts the invitation to take that helmet. (Never can be too safe when Spike is the one driving.)]

It might be good business.

[Come on, they can do better than baguettes. He has faith.]

Maybe if you put in a good word.

[Excuse you, baguettes are awesome. But she's willing to branch out.]

I'll see what I can do.

[Only if they're baguettes filled with meat instead of bread. That could be awesome.]

Have you taken a tour yet?

[What no. That would be disgusting.]

Not an extensive one.

[More for Spike then! -- And he keeps smiling, leaving the engine running as an obvious invitation to hop on. It'll probably be a little hard to take in everything the way he drives, but that doesn't mean it won't be an experience.]

[How romantic. It might be a smarter choice to choose a better-equipped tour guide, but it's not really about that, now is it? With her helmet now securely fastened, she accepts the invitation and climbs onto the motorcycle shortly thereafter.

She'd prefer to be the one driving, but this will do.]

[If they had two that they could race, it could be even better. But they'll have to settle with what they have and work from there.

(Just ignore the bundles of flowers strapped to the back. Spike is going to.)]

Hold on. [He doesn't give her much time to, because barely as soon as she's settled, he's taking off. Nobody's ever complimented him on his patience...]

[She won't say anything about the flowers strapped on the back. He doesn't want to volunteer any information, she won't ask. That's how they operate, and how they always have. The flowers are easy enough to work around, anyway.

And, really, by the time those words leave his mouth, she doesn't really have time to do anything but follow that command. If she doesn't want to end up dumped off somewhere, that is. As the motorcycle makes a jerky lurch forward, she locks her arms around him.]

[It doesn't count as stealing if the castle gave him the job, does it? Spike and honest livings just don't go together, no matter how much you try to force it.

Paris and traffic do though, so Spike has to do a lot of weaving to get any sort of speed going. Which he does! Go ahead and try to tell him that this isn't fun, he will not believe you.]
