[As excited as he had been for the holidays, ever since those fairies showed up, Rookie's enthusiasm had dwindled a bit. Something he didn't outwardly try to show, sure, but to anyone who knew him, they might have been able to tell that there was something amiss... if he hadn't been making the attempt to avoid interacting with people whenever he could help it. Bits of journal conversation aside.
But it had gotten to the point where he was just growing restless. Sitting around thinking was only able to do so much, and when he tried to get his frustrations out through training, in the end it only proved to frustrate him further.
So it was only a matter of time before he was grabbing his journal and heading out the door.]
