[Magic-users]
[It was that time again. Felix had grown to both loathe and gleefully anticipate these recruitment speeches. He too often ran into people who didn't see their talent as magic, or refused to talk about, but the thrill of finding more magic-users, of finding the occasional willing and able person was usually more than worth the effort. Perhaps it was more worrying that this was becoming routine. But no manner. To business.]
Greetings residents. Whether you know me or not, my name is Felix Harrowgate. I am a wizard.
I have been here a year now, and I have spent much of my time devoted to researching all manners of magic from many different worlds. I discovered very quickly that what magic is and what it can do has no set definition or source. Just look at where we live. Our very existence is controlled by it, but what do we really understand about it?
I began Chimera as a group to help me do just that. I can't guarantee this could help us get home, or free ourselves from the castle, but I don't believe it's a waste of time to try.
What I ask of the rest of you is to assist me, either as members, or simply speaking to me about your talent.
And if research isn't something that interests you, Chimera also has a secondary goal of helping to protect the castle and it's residents, especially if magic is involved. Personally, I believe there is more we can be doing in that regard. I'm going to be working to help construct and ward some safe houses outside the castle, but I think some manner of permanent warding here might be exactly what we need.
All that said, I would love to hear from any of you. You can filter to me directly, if you find that more comfortable, or you can find me in person at Chimera Headquarters on the top floor of Gaudium tower.
[Vanyel]
I'd like to try that little experiment I mentioned, if you're free.
[Duke]
Feeling better, yet?
I imagine you heard all that just now, but I'm inviting you up to talk anyway. [Because he has a feeling Duke won't come to him on his own]
[Expedition members]
We never really did get to talk much about the implications of what we discovered down there before were unceremoniously dropped out the side of a mountain. Which is curious in and of itself, considering magic and technology aren't even supposed to function out there.
I've also retained the journal from Libet. I thought I might consult with some of you before I go scrawling messages in it on the off-chance it might actually be connected to someone or something. Any interest in testing that?
