This is some kind of winter solstice tradition? [Cause hey, he knows what a wreath is and when they make them]

Christmas. But it's kind of the same thing.

Mmmmm...

Why does the wreath have to be blessed? Is it part of a ritual?

If you like. The wreath's kind of like a countdown to Christmas, so typically it's blessed by a priest.

[Oh. Durge, you are a good person.]

No ... don't worry about it. You're alright.

I take it you don't have Christianity where you're from.

We do not, I am afraid. Only the New Gods are revered in Eldh these days and I have never heard of yours.

Eldh. Never heard of it before. What are your gods like?

Mmmm. There a great many New Gods with many different interests. They are not quite as...involved in the workings of the Dominions as they are down in Tarras. I discovered them to be not unlike petty squabbling, children, but also something like a large family. I suppose there isn't too much conflict in those things.

In my experience, most gods are just as flawed as regular people. Maybe even more.

At most, some have a kind of wisdom that can only be gained from such a long life, but their focus is often too narrow.

I can see why the Old Gods abandoned us. I think they did not have the time to waste on the relatively minor concerns of men.

"Too narrow" is a good way of putting it.

I've seen people just as often abandon their gods for something new, actually. People move on to something else and leave their old things behind. Sometimes those things happen to be deities.

True, but I expect people to be fickle. Gods, we naturally tend to expect more from.

I guess even gods can have feet of clay. Er ... or tails of clay, sometimes.
