I think a holiday that involves so much food would be more appreciated in a world that didn't make it possible to celebrate it every day.
Here, if one really wanted to, they could have a feast every day. [Some do. Ahem.] I'm surprised at how a holiday like Thanksgiving is kept alive by some, even if the castle itself doesn't celebrate the occasion.
