[Peace Patrol Prison]

[There's a visitor casually striding toward the row of prison cells in the Peace Patrol's prison. Not that anyone is currently aware of it. Veiled by an illusion, the visitor passes by each cell, fingers trailing along the bars of the cells. Prisoners can likely hear soft taps echoing from the bars, but the source is ( Read more... )

[ He's surprised, but not by the tap. By the fact that the tap actually startled him. It's been an interesting mix of confusion and relief for him to adjust to the silent cell that the Doctor had constructed especially for him, all the way at the end of the hall.

Leaning back against the white wall, Joshua's surprise settles down into impish curiosity. He always likes a mystery.

Knock knock. ]

Who's there?

[Allowing for a few moments of surprise just for the suspense. What's a good mystery without a little suspense, after all? Then, a voice is spoken. Only he hears it for now.]

Celo.

[ More surprise, but it's gone as quickly as before. He's smiling again, though it seems he's only energized by his curiosity. He really has seen better days, health-wise.

Shifting from where he'd been sitting on his bed, he tosses aside the magazine. Still, he's wary. Joshua knows he has fits... Someone could have heard him say the name accidentally. ]

Prove it.

[There's a light scoff. Proof?]

You gave me that name. Or are we switching back to "Ivana" now?

[ That makes him laugh, and he stands up to look in the direction of the voice. ]

No, that was always a horrible name.

What's with the disappearing act? [ His voice drops, an edge to it and a glint in his eyes. Something that had been weighing on his mind... ]

Afraid somebody will recognize you?

[Sees that glint. My, my, it's nothing to get worked up over, now is it?]

Possibly.

[And then drops the veil from his eyes, keeping it up for the others around them. Standing before him with arms crossed, bopping lightly on heels]

Although I don't believe we've ever met face to face. Which is a shame. I really would've like to know you in the castle.

[ There's actually mild recognition in his gaze when he sees her. Shaking his head, suspicions confirmed. ]

Actually, I've seen you before. Only in passing, it was across the street in the city quite awhile ago. I didn't have my horns then.

[ And he laughs, clearly not worried about offending her. ]

I thought you were a street-walker.

[Hardly offended at all, and that actually gets a laugh out of her.]

You're definitely not the first person to say that.

Well it may even be true. But who am I to judge?

[ Walking closer, he reaches up to tap his own fingertip against the glass. Normally something he could break through, but with the protective shield, there's no chance. ]

What do you want? If you want to use me for something, I'm afraid I can't use my abilities from in here. They think me a leashed dog.

[In some idle gesture, she moves her own fingertip to where he places his.]

I figured as much. God, it must be so cramped in there. Do they even make sure you're getting clean air? You look like you've seen better days.

[ A light 'Hm' as he waves his hand dismissively. ]

What can I say? I prefer a room with a view.

Instead of a room where everyone can view you?

[Dropping her hand to her side]

Where would you be if you weren't here? I don't really see anyone opening their arms for you if you waltz back into the castle.

[ A light scoff as he rests his shoulder against the wall. But there's a lilt of disappointment to his voice. At least back home, he always had something or someone to look forward to. ]

I don't like the castle, anyway. Too loud, and too constricting.

I hear that.

[A shrug]

Eh, I'm sure you'll figure something out.

I always do. It's the only way to survive.

[ He glances her up and down, though not for the usual reasons. Hoping maybe she could have at least brought him his gun and sword. Oh well, the jerks would just try to confiscate them again anyway.

Try. ]

[Noticing that.]

What. Were you expecting me to bring you something? A cake with a nail file or something?
