[Ashura looked up from polishing off his bit of desert and blinked. Felix gave him little things now and then and he found them delightful, especially the flowers, which he kept as long as he could to brighten their suite. And any jewels the other got he always made sure to wear as often as possible. Luckily Felix had a good eye, so this was never difficult.]
Oh? What?
[He was expecting some new flowers or some other trinket.]
[He didn't buy Ashura jewelry all that often. It was difficult to compete with the elaborate jewels he already owned. This one still fell a little short, but it was no mere costume jewelry.
He placed a small velvet box on the table and slid it closer to the king]
[The box contained a large gold ring. The band itself was plain, but the setting itself was shaped in the form of a serpentine dragon, it's body curling around a large oval ruby]
[Bemused, Felix takes the ring in one hand, then takes Ashura's right hand with the other, gently holding it out, his fingers caressing the soft skin of his lover's palm.
Slowly he slid the ring into place, then curled Ashura's fingers around his and tugged his hand forward to kiss the jewel - not unlike a gesture of fealty but more intimate]
Ashura...if I even act like that again...cold or callous or just plain idiotic...please...please remember that it's never because of you. My feelings for you will never change. Never.
[He leans in, keeping his face passive and yet seriously intent, though on the inside he was loving the blush on the other's face. It was rare he got that out of him.]
[Felix was a handful. He regularly attempted some way to kill himself, he could be terribly hurtful at times, but made up for it later, and deep down Ashura knew the other loved him despite the man being a horrible flirt. There were still many things about Felix he did not know, but he rather felt he knew some of the darker things, and despite those things he knew Felix to be a good man, a kind man, and a strong one. And since they had met, nearly a year ago, he had captivated him.]
[Felix stared a moment, the blush spreading to the tips of his ears until they nearly blended with this hair. The idea of the two of them marrying was...scandalous and ridiculous and utterly unfounded. But he'd meant every word. No matter what he'd said or done Ashura had stood by him, sometimes despite his best attempts to the contrary, and showed no sign of ever giving up on him completely. He valued that patience and that charity - it had kept him from falling part more than once already.
A small, fragile smile spread on his lips.]
I suppose that was tantamount to a proposal, wasn't it?

Nor mine for you.

You know, this would be the time that someone would normally say 'marry me'.
