[guess who else is wandering the stacks, today, laden down with as many books about other worlds as he could carry? yep. this derp. he peers over the top of his wobbly stack, and his eyes crinkle at the corners, the only visible sign that he's beaming]
Huh? Oh! No, that's okay, I'm good. [he manages to set them down on the table with a minimal amount of wobble. only the top few fall off, and he catches those - though there's a good amount of fumbling in the process]
Tryin' to read up on supernatural phenomena in other dimensions, so m' prepared if any of 'em show up here. [he grins] What'cha readin'?
Something that apparently passes for romantic literature in [she peeks at the copyright page] 2008. [She makes a face as she tosses it on a nearby table]
That looks like a lot for an afternoon of reading. [She picks up one of the books, looking it over]
Oh, I'm not gonna read the whole things, just skim 'em. [that one's about Alternia - and no, it's not in any familiar looking alphabet]
Hooboy, we've got some great stuff to look forward to then, huh? [he rolls his eyes] Just like the music. It doesn't sound like many people make good music by then, either.
Sorta? It's pretty close to the Theban alphabet, if you squint. ... It's mostly the fact that it's another language that's the problem. But I know a couple people from this world, so... they'll help me out.
At least, m'pretty sure Aradia will. [he would not put money on Vriska]
The Verve? Don't think they're around yet in '92...
Well that's a help, at least. [she sets the book back down]
'92? Is that when you're from? [She grins] Yeah, the Verve's first album came out in '97. It's still my favorite, though. [She silently wishes up the CD and holds it out] Give it a listen sometime, maybe you'll like it.
Yeah, Aradia's really cool like that. And really smart, too. Have you met any of the Alternians? They're fascinating. I mean - some of 'em are kinda rude, but that's more a cultural thing than anythin' else, I think. They're actually all nice once y' learn how t' talk to 'em. [yes, even Vriska. he's so on to her]
Hey, free music! Thanks! [he grins and tucks the CD into the back of his journal to keep it flat and safe] I'll put it on while I'm workin' in the darkroom, tonight. Got a lot of pictures from Halloween and stuff that I wanna develop.
[She shakes her head] Not that I know of. It doesn't sound familiar, at least.
You have a darkroom? [she grins] Prue made one in our basement when she started getting into photography. I don't know much about it, myself, but I think it's great.
M'not too surprised -- there were a whole lot more've them, a few months ago, but ... a bunch of them got sent home. So you don't tend to see 'em around as much.
If you ever wanna learn, you can come on over. It's not that hard to learn the basics - it's mostly a lotta practice.
Yeah ... but you never know, they might come back! [he shrugs] And yeah, of course! You just let me know when you wanna come give it a shot! I've still got a few rolls I shot down in town that I haven't developed yet, I can make copies of the negatives and you can practice on those.
Oh, believe me, I know. Though I'm a little torn. I would love to see Paige again... but I don't know if I could bring myself to hope for her to be trapped, here.
[a pause] I'd like that a lot. Just as long as I won't be getting in the way of anything.
Yeah, I feel the same way about Pete and Egon - they'd get used to it here, and Egon'd probably love it ... but ... it's a half-and-half thing, yanno?
You won't be in the way at all! I mean, it's a little small, but that's okay. It doesn't feel like a good darkroom unless it's tiny and you're bashin' your elbow on somethin' once in a while.
Hey, Phoebe!

[with a smirk] Ugh. Tell me about it. I'll take The Verve, any day, over most of the stuff I've heard.

Really? I'd like that. I always love to learn new things. I'd go back to school if I had the time.

[she chuckles] Prue took over our basement with hers. Of course, she was always an overachiever.
