34 - Somewhere Out There - 34

...seein' stars fallin' like last night...you get to thinkin' how different it is, watchin' the sky from down here, instead of bein' up in it. There's some things about bein' planet-side that can't be beat, travelin' as much as we were...but I miss the Black. Seein' it from here just ain't the same.

It ain't really somethin' that you can compare to. At least, I ain't seen anything here that works for showin' what it can be like.

Oh, it's definitely that. You don't got sunrises or sunsets, mind. It ain't that sort of pretty. But bein' out in the stars and lookin' down on planets as you're comin' in to land?

There ain't nothin' else like it.

Kind of reminds me of waking up to a snowfall and looking out on New York in the early hours of the day.

Seems like the whole city is just still and there's a white blanket on everything. It's the best when you've got a cup of hot cocoa with real melted chocolate, and you just look out and snuggle into the blanets.

One of the things I miss the most.

[a laugh] There ain't never a bad time for hot cocoa. Not that we got much of it, bein' up on Serenity. Those sorts of things were for celebratin', with rations bein' spread thin' between, unless we'd got a proper job.

I'd be happy to, but...doctor?

You aren't sick, are you? Or hurt? [she knows the Doctor, actually, but she also knows this place. Worry comes first]

Oh, no I'm fine. I'm living with the Doctor. Not a docotor.

Oh! [a laugh] That's alright, then. Guess you ain't far from me, if that's where you're stayin'. Now that the castle's gone and moved us all around like it did.

Well, I live in the TARDIS with him, not in the castle any more... after our rooms changed to our minds, I just couldn't...

I don't blame you. [a small sigh] It didn't go messin' with our rooms none...but some of the folks I know here...that kind of invadin' just ain't right.

What happened to mine mirrored what actually happened to my childhood home. I've just... I was ready to deal with those same actions again. So I've been living with the Fifth Doctor.

Well, if you're gonna stay with someone, he's definitely good people.
