[it's Friday night. Lucy is enjoying her version of a social life by sitting at the Lux's bar, drinking a glass of wine and staring blankly at the far wall. An unopened book on vampire lore and her communicator are on the bar top in front of her.

Come bother the crazy lady?]

[you know what? he will just. slide onto a seat one away from her.]

And what is a woman like you doing alone on a Friday night, hm?

[queendramabitch]

[Lucy blinks once, like she's waking up from a daydream, and looks over at Zelman like she's wondering when he showed up. After a moment, she simply shrugs, and reaches over to turn her communicator on and type out a reply]

"What sort of woman do you think I am?"

[exanimatus]

[he doesn't seem to mind the communicator. he recalls that being her loss, or something equal. it's easy enough, and he considers a response normally.]

I think... You are the sort of woman who doesn't mind an idle night here and there, but would eventually find the old routine to be boring.

[queendramabitch]

[she hates that she has to use it, but it's faster and somehow better than writing her conversations out by hand]

"The old routine became boring a very long time ago."

[exanimatus]

Then I'm right.

[and since it's kind of in his interests, he points towards the book in front of her.]

What's that for?

[queendramabitch]

[she glances at the book, then types away]

"Do you know Nikola Tesla? He's not what I imagined vampires would be like."

[exanimatus]

Yeah, I know that guy. He's pretty interesting. [punched him in the face. fond memories!]

What was your original imagining, if I'm allowed to be curious?

[queendramabitch]

[Lucy looks at him with as much shrewdness as she can manage, these days]

"Are you from Earth?"

[exanimatus]

[he just smirks in response.]

I am.

[queendramabitch]

"Then you must be familiar with the popular image of vampires there. He's really nothing like that at all."

[exanimatus]

Ah, no... He doesn't seem to be much into the "stalking prey at night" and "feeding on the blood of innocent victims" thing.

[he taps his finger on the table, a little distractedly. he's thinking about drinks.] I doubt he'd ever be caught sleeping in a coffin, either.

[queendramabitch]

[that prompts a sniff of silent laughter]

"When are you from?"

[exanimatus]

[laughter is good. another glance, and he's back in the conversation.]

Japan. But I suppose I'm a native of Poland. [way native. :|a]

[queendramabitch]

[she shakes her head in the negative, and tries again]

"When are you from? I was last in 2009."

[exanimatus]

Hm? ...ah.

2007. Barely off.

[queendramabitch]

[huh. For some reason she'd had the impression he was from her future. She considers that briefly]

"You don't look Polish."
