[Gibson is in the library, a few collections of illustrated steampunk books open on a table from which he's idly sketching a few diagrams.]How many of you know anything about steam power ( Read more... )

I'm not familiar with designing it or anything, but we have ships called Sand Steamers back home. The only problem with that is not having Plants to run them.

I'm not a bad driver though, if you do come up with something.

I'm assuming you mean something besides what everyone else here calls a "plant".

I will. Actually, if you could sketch a basic layout of the controls you're familiar with, I can incorporate that into the design.

Yeah. They're the major source of power where I'm from. Looks a lot like a giant light bulb.

Sure. Can't say how good of a sketch it'll be, but I can try.

[And hope that a car in this guy's world looks like what it does in hers--if they even have them. Because while Amelia does try, arguments can be made on how much she actually succeeds.]

...Huh. But it's not electricity? Any idea what the type of power is called?

Thanks. [They do, sort of. More or less. Let's just say there's a variety that includes huge tanks.] I'll see what I can do.

I know Tony Stark had been working on something steam powered before he left.

Did he leave anything useful behind, like his findings?

He did, indeed. There were loads of notes. He also completed a steam powered vehicle that's ready to be tested. I just haven't quite had the chance to do so... I don't know if anyone else has had the honors, yet, either.

Really? [He sounds delighted by this.] Well! I've just found someone who can drive [ draws a line] so maybe we can test it out? I can at least help test it inside the border, too.

I can wish for the peices of the steam bike I would like to build. Would you mind helping me with it?

Hey, that's great! You know I would - we could compare it to a lightcycle, even, see what kind of improvements we could make.

i dont know the first thing about it
but i support this idea
have you built a prototype already?

bostrumite September 27 2011, 04:00:39 UTC
Not yet. I have to decide what kind of vehicle I'd want to test out first. Any preferences?
