I know that we're not on Earth but it seems like we follow the same calendar. Even if the seasons aren't changing yet, in a few days it will be the Autumnal Equinox, also known as Mabon and Harvest Home, among other things. It's a day that's been celebrated many ways through the centuries, though the principle behind it has stayed mostly the same. We may not actually have a harvest, but that doesn't mean we can't still give thanks for what we do have. The equinox is a time to remember that with each ending there is a new beginning.
Today is the "Seventh Day" of the Equinox. A day typically celebrated with sports and games. I'm sure that most of you don't want to listen to me ramble on about all the myths and Gods and everything, but if anyone would like to learn more I'll be outside. If there's anyone else out there who celebrates the Equinox in your own culture I'd love to hear about it. Who knows- maybe our traditions are more similar than we might think.
[Phoebe is lounging in the grass, looking up at the stars. The constellations may not be there, but she's still looking. Her mind wanders as she thinks about the time she's spent here at the castle, the things that had happened. She smiled, slightly. She may be trapped but that's no reason why she couldn't still continue to try to be a better person.
There's a low table nearby with a chalice of wine, a bowl of grains, a laurel wreath and a loaf of bread. There's a candle burning in the middle of the table. There's a book laying open next to her, a ribbon in place in case the breeze turns the pages.]
