[ It had been a long trip around the castle, especially finding ways of keeping the young girl entertained. They'd been to the kitchen, the library (which hadn't lasted long due to its size) and after trying to find other places in the castle Helen had eventually taken River back to James's room where it would be easier to keep her in

[Mischievous, conniving, sly, James could go on about the girl but he was currently searching high and low for her. He had not expected to be dragged into a second bout of watching someone's child, another blonde, intelligent child.

He was going to kill Helen after this.]

River Song get out here right now. [He's not really thrilled right now, his knee hurts and having to hunt high and low for the girl was taking a toll on him.]

[It seemed like River Song had been nothing but trouble from the day she had been born. Right now, she was currently playing a game of hide-and-seek with her two new grown-up friends. They were a lot more fun then her parents. Mom could be pretty steamed sometimes when River played her little games.

Giggling, she's small enough to have tucked herself under a table. Like any child, she just wants to play games and have adventures'

[ Helen on the other hand had a far lighter attitude to all of this. She hadn't expected James to get involved with it too - she was planning on just keeping her there and safe until her parents came for her ]

I believe that would be defeating the objective. [ She'd gone through this many times with Ashley and knew exactly what the girl had done and planned - and since there was no danger she was quite happy to let it go on ]

[You don't understand Helen, he's managed to wrench his knee somehow over the day and it hurts to walk. And he's not one to let a child go running through his room, even being watched by Helen, he's gone through this himself and figures it's worth a shot right?]

Yes well, sometimes they listen. Not always however. [He is hobbling around some, but he keeps looking, willing to let this go one as long as River wants it to. There are worse things after all.]

[She stays secluded in her hiding place, secure in the knowledge that they couldn't possibly find her. If her giggles didn't give it away, the edge of her feet can be seen from where she'd crouched under the table]

James, sit down before you injure yourself further. [ Because Helen had a sure fire way to get the girl to come out, so she believes anyway - ignore her. It's no fun if people don't play your game. If Helen finds the girl - which may happen - she won't make much mention on it ]

I'm fine...[And he gives the room a once over look again, sharp eyes picking up on her feet, but should he say something? Well, yes.] Helen. [He's pointing towards the table, all up to her if she wants to find the girl or leave her there, he's hobbling towards a chair after pointing out where she is.]

[River is beginning to lose her patience. It looks like these people aren't very good at hide-and-seek!]

James. [ She's not budging on that. Limping is not fine.

When James points her out Helen gives him a knowing nod, taking her time to get over to her - and making sure that James is settled first. When she reaches the table she waits for a short moment before crouching down and giving the girl a smile ] Hello.

I'm fine. [Limping is FINE Helen sheesh.

But when he's settled in his chair he watches her go over to where River is. Better to let Helen deal with her for the moment, she's been the more kid person out of the two of them.]

[Little River doesn't look very satisfied by the time Helen finds her. She creeps out from under the table and sulks]

You two are bad at playing hide-and-seek!

I simply haven't been shown how to properly play it. [ She never was all that good at it with Ashley either ]

And it has been some time since I had to track down a young lady such as yourself. [It's no fun being a keen eyed detective and tracking her down quickly now is it?]

Bah, you two are almost as boring as mom and dad.

[It's hard to keep her attention for an extended period of time. Someone better break out some candy or treats]
