Hello? Guys? This isn't funny, my birthday isn't for another two months. [ A sigh and she starts pacing, loudly. ]

Fenris? Isabela? [ Long pause. ] ...Anders?

Can someone tell me why I can't smell Lowtown burning anymore and when exactly did magic books become a thing? They would have been incredibly helpful six years ago.

They should all be around the castle, I believe. As far as the last, it has to do with not being where-ever you expected you should be.

Welcome to Paradisa.

You mean I'm not in Kirkwall anymore?

That's right. You're probably in -- the castle proper. Cair Paradisa, Castle Paradisa. It's a structure on a world that's not really named, on a continent I think we pass off as calling "Paradisa" just to have something to call it.

This is a different world than your own, probably in a different dimension. The people experienced with different dimensions seem to believe so, at least.

So to get this right, I've effectively been kidnapped and brought to another... world? [ It's official, this is effectively the worst day of her life. The only upside to this mess is that she doesn't have Orsino or Meredith glaring her into trying to pick a side. ]

Ah, yes. And you lost something.

... Or rather something was taken from you, in order to be kidnapped here. We tend to call those our losses, one big thing that's important to you taken away permanently. It might be a skill, a memory or set of memories, an ability, or just about anything. It varies from person to person.

So a better summary is you've been kidnapped to another world and mugged by whatever brought you here.

On the upside, you've got a castle full of usually invisible servants on hand and the ability to wish for almost anything you want, pending that anything isn't another person.

And it gets better! Kidnapped and mugged in one day, Maker I'm never going to live this one down.

Well that's rather kind of it, why not send a fruit basket with a sorry note for being such a enormous bastard.

Oh, it probably has before. Better make sure it knows about any allergies ahead of time. For the added sincerity, right?

[ A short laugh. ] The only thing I'm allergic to is crazy, power hungry Knight Commanders. Lucky it looks like she missed the trip.

Power hungry doesn't fare too well in the long run around here. Way too many over-powered people for any one person to last long at the top.

One way or another, the balance holds.

[ Riful... Arthas... Legato... Everyone, for good or ill. And there were so many, on either side. ]

Luck holds for you, she'll keep missing the trip. Not that I'd count on it.

Sounds just like home. [ In a way, and she almost sounds found for a moment until all traces of it disappears. ]

Thank you serah, for the information.

[ funny how the just like home thing can happen fffft for just about everyone.

... maybe that's the trick. ]

You're welcome.Would you [ she pauses, looking up and over at her dog in the far off place she's at now. Isabela said Hawke, and Isabela said so, and she thinks -- really thinks -- she heard Anders pipe up. Which altogether points toward -- ] mind if I asked two questions?

As long as you're not trying to guess the color of my undergarments. [ Aheh. ]

Ask away.

[ long pause as she wonders who the heck would -- ... Isabela. Her "what?!" face is pretty priceless, if no one is really there to see it.

... she also doesn't mention that her first question was asking if she could ask two questions. ]

Just reiterating, but you are the Hawke that ties Isabela, Anders, and Fenris together, aren't you?

Ah -- good! I'm glad. I think your friends will be doing a lot better with you here, and with how things have been lately, I'm glad you're here. For their sake. Teams work better when they have whatever it is that binds them together around, you know?

Just to let you know what this is [ she draws a line up to the "Hawke" filter; ] -- a filter. You can choose to make information, written or spoken, visible to only a person, or yourself, or a group of people. The limitations as to what those "filters" can be are pretty broad! I made one for people who liked eggplant once, to see if it'd work. It won't stop someone near you from hearing what you say into the journal, but it prevents anyone else from hearing it, if they aren't with you at the time.

[ Ahaha... haha. ] We're quite the dysfunctional team, things might just get worse.

That is certainly handy, saves me the trouble of trying to hunt them down. [ Remember filters, very handy and will make it easier to contact her dear friends. Lessens the chance of her becoming horribly lost trying to find the idiots. ]
