As if things couldn't get odder in the castle, a vendor is parked in the lobby offering ice creams which are named after castle residents. I don't know whether to be rather amused or mildly disturbed by this. I checked and, yes, even though I've moved away from the castle and am currently residing in town, there is still an ice cream flavour

We are all assigned rooms when we arrive and they appear to remain ours, no matter where we move to.

[Then the implication of what Gunn is actually saying hits home.]

You went into my room?

[What reason would he have had to do that?]

Wes

[gunnfire]

[Yeah, he knew Wesley would get there eventually.]

Took a peek, yeah.

Gunn

I see.

[He doesn't like the fact that the other man went into his private space uninvited. Especially at a time when he had no control over the contents of the room and what it represented.]

Find anything interesting?

Wes

[gunnfire]

Books.

[Gunn still isn't especially fond of Wes, no - but he does feel a lingering sense of guilt for stepping into his room during that event without explicit permission.

Besides; some of the things he'd found there had unsettled him. It'd been a mistake on his part.]

Lots and lots of books. Anyone ever told you how boring you are?

[Dryly.]

Not lately, at any rate. I don't actually find books all that boring. But no doubt that's where we differ in opinion

What about you, did your room transform into anything particularly noteworthy?

Wes

[gunnfire]

Nope. Castle left me out of the fun this time - not that I'm complaining about it.

[He's silently glad they've just moved on.]

Gunn

[demonologist]

Yes, you should definitely take any reprieve you can get from castle interference. It can be extremely off-balancing sometimes.

[See this? They can do civil.]

[gunnfire]

It still get to you, living out in town?

Gunn

[demonologist]

Sometimes. There were a spate of violent attacks and vandalism in town by some teenagers on a loss. That sort of thing.

Recently all of the residents woke up and the whole environment had changed. We were suddenly at sea on three separate ships and couldn't make contact with each other for some time except via journal. That lasted a good ten days. It wasn't pleasant.

However, since I moved, I do think I've been spared some of the day to day dramas which the castle throws at us.

Day to day dramas. Have you gone on losses?

[-- civility is.. happening.]

Gunn

[demonologist]

I've been hit by group losses. One which made me almost toss myself off of the roof, but Spike knocked me out and chained me to his bathtub until the loss was over. I was embroiled in a murder mystery where I believed I was a town realtor. I was around for Valentine's Day where I kissed several people including Spike and got engaged to Kaylee Frye (whom at the time I had met only once or twice.)

[There's a long pause.]

In May I was a father of a child for an entire week. That probably was one of the hardest I've had to deal with.

But so far I have been lucky enough not to be put on a loss by myself. Not like others who have been turned into mannequins or cats or rendered completely incorporeal and unable to speak to anyone and so forth.

[gunnfire]

[And there's silence from Gunn's end for a long moment as well. Some of those things had bothered him worse than others, and after a bout of silence, he finally just sighs.]

As long as I don't get turned into a cockroach, cool.

Gunn

[demonologist]

Let's hope you haven't just jinxed yourself.

Wes

[gunnfire]

Yeah, well. We'll see.
