[Walk into Asuka's room, and you'll be on a beach. The sand is white, and the "ocean" is red, and there's no one there. It's dead quiet, save for the waves. It's oddly calm if you know Asuka at all. There are the remains of buildings sprinkled about, broken and mostly-submerged. The tallest things, the only things obstructing the stars, are those

[he's seen this before. not in person, but on a television screen... and it's troubling that this is what's in Asuka's head. it makes sense, of course, but that doesn't mean he has to like it.

he's mostly just looking around, yeah. what's going on with the water, huh?]

[Get closer to the water and you might see something moving in the waves, disappearing as they lap the shore. They're people. Some aren't recognizable, but others definitely are--Shinji, Hikari, Dante... and maybe even Zelman himself. All are brief, some appearing more often than others. It almost looks like you can touch them if you reached out at the right time.]

[as appealing as it is... he thinks he'll keep his hands to himself, content to just watch for now.

and after a while he'll just keep walking. he doesn't really want to disturb it; he has enough courtesy for that, at least.]

[Enjoy the sandy expanse, and that lovely smell of LCL. A few sparse remains of humanity might be seen in the sand, like newspaper clippings or clothing.]
