027-dictated/open to action for the Angel tower lockdown people;

Aug 10, 2011 23:18

[Spike is really, really sick of being trapped in a tower. Especially as it sounds like he's needed out there. And Kaylee's gone missing and the urge to stake Angel or Harmony is slowly rising with every minute he's stuck in close quarters with them ( Read more... )

[Wes has followed the noise to its source and paused, watching Spike punching at the wall. He can understand the sentiment. He leans against a wall, his arms folded.]

Feeling better now?

[Spike leans against the wall, just generally looking annoyed. He doesn't look up.]

No.

I wish we could help Kaylee too.

[He's calmer, almost resigned.]

I signed up to assist in the final confrontation but that's not going to happen now.

I don't give a damn about the final confrontation. I just want my friend to be all right.

[It's not entirely true, of course. Spike cares. Spike always cares. But it's true that right now Kaylee seems a hell of a lot more important than anything else.]

[Spike isn't really a 'big picture' sort of person in comparison to Wesley, so he'll let that slide. He's worried about Kaylee as well, and wishes they weren't locked in the tower, unable to help their friends.]

No doubt Zoe and John Marston will be working to get her back. Probably others. It's small comfort, I know, but she has many friends who care about her.

I can't just stand around doing nothing!

[Wes glances pointedly at the wall which is already beginning to repair itself of what little damage Spike was able to do.]

Beating uselessly at the wall isn't going to achieve anything. Let me see your knuckles.

[He holds his hand out imperiously.]

[Spike just gives him a particularly annoyed look and starts pounding on the wall again.]

Fine. Be Sisyphus if you want to, but it won't help get Kaylee back, and it won't get you any closer to getting out of here.

So what am I supposed to do? Sit around polishing my sword?

Read a bloody book. I don't know. But don't expect me to just stand here and let you futilely pound your hand into a pulpy mess.

[Spike scoffed.] How exactly are you planning on stopping me?

[Wes' expression hardens at Spike being so dismissive of him and his attempt to help. He may not be able to physically haul him off, but that hadn't been the point. Wes had been appealing to him to stop hurting himself for such a useless cause. He folds his arms and steps in front of Spike, his back against the wall.]

[Spike scowls at him.] Bugger off.

No.

[He dares Spike to hit him or shove him out of the way.]

Come on, let's go have a drink. Or I'll play one of those video games you seem like so much. You can thrash me.

[Spike glowers at him.] You really think a bit of drinking of gaming's going to make this better?
