[With a very undignified grunt, Watson manages to at least sit up and then look around the place, obviously something like a lobby if the decor and such were right, and well its Watson so he ends up just observing the area round him, even noticing the obviously open journal nearby, and even if he is dead acute observation is still a strong skill of

Excuse me, you must be new here. I'm Doctor River Song and I'd be happy to help if you are in need of anything?

Yes, yes I am certainly that. [And because she introduced herself he's going to stand somewhat shakily as he's getting used to his lack of an exobrace and the pain slowly and bow to her as he is a Victorian gentleman after all.] Doctor James Watson at your service, and well, an idea of where I am and why I seem to be missing something, and perhaps a cup of tea if at all possible? [And he's still standing until she sits, which he waves her to do.]

We all end up missing something when we come here. For instance, I lost a very special journal of mine.
[His longing for tea and mannerisms tell her that he's british and brits have to stick together]
I know just where to go for tea, so I can remedy that fairly quickly.

Ahh now see, that is, both disturbing and somewhat, gratifying to know that I am not the only one to lose something important. [No he's not about to share what he lost without a little prompting, mostly as he doesn't want to worry her, gentleman sensibilities and all.]
[Lets add in his rather obvious accent as well as to the evidence that he's a brit, and he fully agrees with that sentiment about sticking together, after all only another brit knows where to get good tea.]
That sounds like a lovely idea, Dr. Song yes? I have sadly been without a good cup of tea for some time now. [Well more like maybe two days his time but that seems like for ever to him as he's used to prompt tea service.]

Come along, I've got some tea in my room, if you don't mind joining me. I've got the good stuff there.
[At least he insists on calling her Dr. Song instead of Miss Song. That's always a plus. Without turning to look back, she leads him down the long winding halls and towards her room]
So, I believe you mentioned something called the Cabal? Let's just say a little pigeon once mentioned that name as well. I'm thinking you're from his time and universe.

If a lady asks then I shall follow.
[Well Helen would hit him if he didn't call her by her proper title, and besides its only good manners. And do excuse him if his attention is divided, he's observing the area around him.]
And yes I did, the Cabal yes. And a pidgeon? Did that pidgeon happen to be a spikey haired man with an air of superiority and madness to him?

It won't be far. Just another few minutes.
[His description of Nikola is so dead on that it makes her laugh. Oh yes, the two of them got on very well. Thick as thieves they were]
That's him alright. I take it you're a friend of his? This would be terribly awkward if you're a foe.

That's good to hear, yes, yes it is. Is the entire castle like this, all winding and such?
[Yes well you know he's only known the Serbian ever sense he had a horrible accent and mustache. So he can only assume she knows him, if she's laughing.]
Yes, you could call us that yes, friends. Went to Oxford together and all. So he still has that thing for pidgeons?

[A few minutes later they come to a door with her name plate on it. She opens it - her room is very neat and tidy. Partly because she's rarely in it. The walls area bright shade of blue, a color that usually has a calming effect - at least for her. She maneuvers over to the kitchen area to begin preparing the tea. He can have a seat on a chair facing a desk at the opposite corner of her room ]
How thrilling. I suppose you could say that Nikola and I are bound by our sense of adventure here. As for the pidgeons, he keeps them as pets, I believe. That or they follow him around with a will of their own.

[Because you know, he's only lived in such a place the last hundred odd years, why is now any different? Oh right, it hurts to walk. But well he's glad to get to her room, and just shakes his head, some types of people are the same, no matter what. Adventurous women liked tidy rooms apparently, wasn't that good to know? And he will slowly make his way to the desk, glancing over her possessions as he does so, just to get an idea of her, settling down in the chair carefully.]
Sense of adventure? I have only ever known him to be searching for his own agenda, and getting into trouble along the way. The pigeons though, well he has always had an interest in them, always kept them as pets as long as I've known him, when he hasn't been experimenting.

Well, you'd know him better. I've only been here a few months myself. The tea will be done here in a few minutes.
Reply
Yes I would, even if he did up and disappear for a good part of a century. And I'm glad to hear that, it seems like ages since I've had a good cup of tea.

Oh, so I suppose you're one of those vampires too? Or something else? Wait, I think Nikola mentioned you. Are you the one who was the inspiration for Sherlock Holmes?
[ A few minutes later she hands him a cup of tea on a small tray that also happens to have some jammy dodgers on them. A light snack to go with the tea]

A vampire? No, no Nikola is the only vampire out of our little group. [ A smile.] But yes, that would be me, the inspiration for the iconic detective.
[He smiles and takes the offered cup of tea, taking a slow sip from it and letting out a pleased sigh.]
Thank you very much for your hospitality.

[She's not upset, although it was rather rude of him to peek through her things. She seems more amused then anything else as she sits back and sips from her own cup of tea]
No problem. It must be stressful, being a new arrival. I had many friends when I arrived and I'm more or less used to being dropped into strange places and times.

[He really isn't all that apologetic about it, he just looked after all, and his mind is always churning but he IS embarrassed he was caught at it. But at least she took it in stride, and he sips again and just enjoys the taste for a moment.]
It is rather stressful yes, but also, somewhat of a relief. I was, well dying or near about dead when I was sent here, so, being given a chance at life? It is rather nice to have.
But you are used to being dropped into strange places hmm? How so?
