[River Song has been distant lately. Her eyes and face have a far off look to them - more so then usual. It's that special time of the year. That time she looks forward to, even within the confines of her cell back at the Storm Cage Facility. She would have been even more restless around this time had she been back there. Here, locked away in a bigger cell - this entire dimension - she seems withdrawn. Why, it's almost as if she's managed to shut down completely.
Something was missing from her life. Some vital part of what made her spark was lost. What or who could it be? It's not like she'd open up about these kind of things. It was a sort of spoiler, after all.
Sulking in her room within the confines of the Eleventh Doctor's TARDIS, she picks up her journal and begins to write. For those listening closely, there's an odd sound in the background - An old song Time After Time ]
At midnight, it'll be my birthday....
[That's all she writes. It's all she can bear to admit. Another year of her life gone by and no sign of her Doctor. The man who celebrated her birthday even knowing the catastrophe that befell her as an infant. That clever, dashing man who tried to out do himself every year by taking her to fantastic times and places. Coney Island the opening day. Egypt, when the sphinx was brand new. The last time she'd seen her Doctor, he'd taken her to the last of the great Frost Fairs and had Stevie Wonder sing for her....
