[it would be awhile before she'd make her way to Coraline's room. When she did, it would be with two mugs in hand (made, not wished up), hot chocolate in both. It wasn't a summer drink...but it was familiar and she wanted that right now. Holding both handles carefully in one hand, she knocked on the door with the other]
[Coraline will open the door and manage a small smile, but it doesn't reach her eyes as much as she hoped it would. She eyes the mugs for a moment, then steps to the side so she can enter her room]
[it's a note she took from the Doctor's book. Always alright. Despite kidnappings and villains and being held prisoner...none of that mattered. She would come through. Right now, she was worried about Coraline.]
Though it's been an eventful couple of weeks. Were you okay? After that mess with the pirates?
Fully safe and intact. I'm good at getting out of tight situations. [even if, technically, she hadn't actually gotten out of that one until Arthur had rescued her]
[she pauses as well after the name, and then sighs. Sadly. Reaching out, Coraline gets pulled into a hug whether she was wanting one or not. She doesn't say it will be okay. Losing a friend never is. But she's there, all the same]
[That was mostly a lie, but whatev. When she's pulled into the embrace, she just sniffles a bit, but doesn't cry] Maybe they'll all come back. At once.
I'm here.

[she raises the glasses by way of explanation as she slips inside] It isn't very summery, but I think it's becoming a mandatory tradition.

[She nods] Yeah, really. I made it out okay. How about you?

[softly, after a pause] Who went home, sweetie?

[She bites the bottom of her lip a little and pauses] ...Edward.
