003. attempts at clubbing (open)

Jul 19, 2011 00:21

[After a brief journey Castor throws open the doors of The Lux. His face, lit up in anticipation of the sight of something akin to his own End of Line club, plumets sharply as he takes in the cozy, dare he say it, family friendly atmosphere.]

Not... quite what I was expecting.

[Castor turns, addressing the brilliant green program just behind, Gibson ( Read more... )

[Gibson laughs and leans back against one of the walls.]

This is the Lux. Matches the tone of the rest of the place, doesn't it? Nice enough, sure, but not exactly what I'd call a masterpiece of technology.

[The floors don't even glow. What's up with that?]

Quite.

[He stretches the word out, as his eyes scan the restaurant.]

Well now, might as well make use of the opportunity, yes? There is a bar, after all.

[Gibson takes a seat at a barstool and swivels around to grin rakishly at Zuse Castor.]

I'll warn you now, their idea of energy drinks are nothing like ours. "Red Bull" is kind of disgusting.

I have little doubt. From what I've seen of this place, the locals have little to no taste in any sense of the word.

However, it might prove... useful to know of the more popular drinks of this Paradisa.

Tell me about it.

[He grabs a menu and starts perusing it.]

Margarita, Martini, Mojito, Daiquiri, Long Island Iced Tea....

What are these names? It's like someone threw together any available letters into a semi-pleasurable shape!

[He sighs, rather dramatically.]

Still, we might as well give them a chance. Here.

[He closes his eyes and circles the page with his finger before suddenly slamming it down onto the word "Mojito".]

[...You know, acting just like Zuse isn't going to convince anyone you're not actually him. Gibson grins and orders one up for himself - a "margarita".]

Interesting. It's...cold.

[User alcohol still tastes very strange to him, though.]

Hmmm... Intriguing. Not the subtle power of a well-mixed energy drink by any means. Still there's something there.

[Castor picks another drink at random, a "strawberry daiquiri"]

((ooc: This is quickly going to become: That Time Castor and Gibson Got Drunk. Isn't it?))

[Gibson swirls around his glass and tastes the salt - they look like little pixel cubes, but the face he makesshows they aren't what he was expecting. After a moment, though, he realizes it complements the too-sweet margarita flavor and starts alternating them.]

Not the same, but not too bad. I see how you could work with this.

((Yes. Yes it is.))

Indeed. The differences in flavor is especially startling, the idea of combining this aspect with the potency of an energy drink...

[Castor is becoming quite excited at this point, his eyes staring away at some future with a lot of mixed drinks]

However, Something would have to be done about the atmosphere.

((I am totally okay with this.))

[All these mixers they never had on the Grid...yeah, Gibson could see that. He could definitely see that. They weren't quite his style on their own, but with a little actual energy in there....]

This whole castle is too bright. Give me a nice room with no overhead lights, just--you know, like the Grid. Lights on everything else.

Right, right. Granted. But the music, the music is the key. I hav- had these two utterly fantastic DJ's, could alter the mood with a flick of their wrists.

[Castor demonstrates.

Yes, Castor's a light-weight who's never had alcohol before, why do you ask?
That certainly won't stop him from ordering another drink. Which he does.]

Music. [He sounds thoughtful.] There's a guy who does a "radio show" every twenty-one microcycles [aka every Monday night], and I think there's a whole room with all kinds of music in it. I bet we could figure something out.

{Hello, martini, how are you today?]

Might even be able to find some new employees. Not the same, of course, not the same--but better than nothing.

Yes, of course! I can see it now. Not quite the End of Line Club of Zuse, user bless him. But something of my own design, a kaleidoscopic combination of Grid and Paradisa! It could soar!

[Please forgive him, he's bad enough when sober, but Now...

Unfortunately, the alcohol hasn't quite erased all logic, and momentarily he quiets]

But how? How to make it real?

[Gibson grins, leaning back on his barstool a little and resting a hand on the counter.]

Location, location, location? Either find an empty room here in the castle and see if you can claim it in the name of your club, or find a spot in town. Once you've got that - you know you can change the looks of your own room just by asking for it, right? Then add in a few drinks, some music, and you're off to a good start.

[Castor's mind = blown.]

...What did you just say?
