Light and quick, and at times disorienting. Geography which is familiar and commonplace on land presents new hazards, but there is also the chance to gain new perspectives.
The height, yes, and flight renders it possible to interact with the world in a different orientation. Consider if you are truly freeflying you can flip yourself about easily, with the land appearing to hang above you, while the sky yawns below...
The situation in which I could fly was rather unique. The means are not a biological characteristic which I possess, and the locale in which I flew... well, suffice to say it is no longer exists.
I had flown all my life in this place, until it was destroyed, which was relatively recently. My answer must be yes, at very least because I grew up so accustomed to flying, and the possibility that I will never fly again is saddening.
Never at home. I suppose a means might be possible here, one of my friends should certainly have the engineering expertise - though I cannot say it would be the same. Although I must admit that I tread into the shallow, lukewarm waters of self-pity with that statement.
Indeed... at any rate, it is not the worst thing that can possibly happen to a person. My friends suffered similar losses, and we all had to accustom ourselves to them.

What were some of the other things you used to do back home that you haven't so much since coming here?
