[Do you know who is bored? Like, ultra bored? This week off from work to finish healing and relaxing from the jailbreak has been slowly driving Alleyne mad. How does one relax after a thousand years of constant work? What is a vacation? What do you do with free time? She's been scouring the castle looking for anything to occupy herself that her ( Read more... )

[Damn you kids and your hormones being all curious about this]

Studying the cultures and customs of others, specifically those from Earth. Most subjects seem to lead back into this.

The foundations of life does stem from breeding. Don't tell anyone, but I actually looked up the history of Pokemon breeding. Turns out there were a bunch of statues of uh... yeah.

According to the books I'm reading, a lot of cultures seem to value fertility a lot. Can't say I'm surprised you found that, but what has you especially curious about how an animal reproduces, of all things?

Well it turns out I can draw out the greatest potential from Pokemon eggs, so I've had to do a lot of breeding since day cares and scientists first discovered them. Kind of a hassle, having to hatch eggs for 'em, but they won't hatch unless they get someone who cares for them to care for 'em, you know.

The Pokemon themselves don't hatch them? That's odd, but I can see where it helps form bonds between them and you trainers.

Wild ones do, but domesticated ones can't since they're usually on the move with their trainers.

This actually has helped me sort out a few thoughts, actually. Thank you for the unexpected inspiration.

It just reminded me of some things that happened here. I can perhaps use it to help grow closer with her.

Nothing, just something the castle's done.

Do you remember a short while back when the castle had us raise kids? Some things happened then. The idea of bonding over egg hatching reminded me of it. I think that may have been what triggered a lot, actually.

Sorry if this is too much.

No, I think I get you.

What do you plan on doing then?

From the advice gathered, taking it slow and easy and working as things go seems best. Even if I'm rejected, it should go smoother if I don't plan for anything beyond it. I'll eventually tell her, but probably not for a short while yet. We have time, after all.
