Seems like someone had spilled something and rather than wait for the castle to clean it up, He took it upon Himself. He's whistling a cheerful tune as He works and His journal is hanging off His belt, closed.]

[ she's passing through and sees this guy cleaning up the mess. she stops immediately, thinking he's much too old to be hunched over and doing that so she approaches him. ]

Help? [He straightens as He seems to consider it.] I would be glad for it.

[Here, have a Charles wheeling along, really just passing through the lobby in one of his many wheeled sojourns through the castle. The whole building fascinated him, and he'd only just scratched the surface of the place. When he notices the older man mopping, he stops. He'd offer to help, but he's not really in the right position to be doing janitorial work. Instead, he'll wheel himself off to the side, hoping to engage his fellow resident in conversation.]

I've heard it said that the castle, among other things, cleans itself. Though I must admit, a task like this has it's own merit, in spite of the conveniences offered us.

[Charles will smile as well. There's something strange about this man, Charles can feel it. Just being in his presence makes him feel good, despite the fact that Charles can't seem to see into his mind at all.]

It's unfortunate, really. There's truly something to be said of the sense of accomplishment one feels when they've really done something, no matter how large or small it might be. I'd offer to help you myself, but I'm afraid that circumstances beyond my control have left me somewhat less capable than I remember myself being.

[Nevertheless, he extends a hand to shake, wanting to make good impressions on as many of the people here as he could. One never knows when they'll have need of friends, after all.]
