I see.

I suppose you're going to claim you don't remember kidnapping me either.

No [there's a pause, and she writes the word again] No, I remember everything that happened.

But I don't recognize your writing, I'm sorry.

[Conan sighs and starts to speak aloud.]

You never bothered to get my name.

I-I'm sorry.

Is it alright... if I ask what your name is now?

Hello... Um, my name is Colette.

[and she thinks she remembers his voice] I'm so sorry... for what happened- no, for what I did.

And will an apology fix anything?

apologeticangel July 2 2011, 00:25:01 UTC
... I don't know. But whatever I can do to make it better... I'd want to try.

Even if some of you don't remember or if you were not in control of yourselves, it doesn't change the fact that it all happened.

I know.

So whatever I can do to help the people who have been hurt... I'll do it. If it means apologizing, o-or helping with things... anything.

Remorse is better than nothing.

Mm... but I don't think it's quiet enough. [at least for her]

Better than being proud of your actions.

[Really Conan would prefer to see everyone involved go through the legal process. As a detective he was naturally suspicious of any defense that involved the culprit claiming no memory or that they hadn't done a crime of their own volition. He'd seen too may criminals trying to falsify an insanity plea in such a way. But the two he'd spoken to seemed to genuinely regret their actions.]
