[ Warm and toasty. Maybe you've taken apart some of the buildings to strike up the fire, or maybe you just used some old barstools. Hey, just throw random stuff in it and watch them burn. It's all good. Just don't get, like, asbestos or anything. ]
[ Make sure to share with your crewmates. Find a dingo or lizard to eat? Fry it on a stick, you're totally a wilder-dude. Knock back a few bottles from your ship or from the ones you may have found at that bar. Aww yeah, party yeah. ]
[ nudge had been all fired up to do some super cool treasure hunting. UNTIL, of course, she realised that that would entail traipsing around in small houses... packed with sand... with a large group of people... in the dark? hello there extreme claustrophobia, how you doin'?
so yeah, she's just going to be sitting here at the fire, bein' all warm. she's no stranger to survival eating, and if someone really did fry a lizard she would totally eat it... IF she hadn't walked with some food of her own, heh. she's just going to be chowing down on this bowl of boiled potatoes and other random veggies. she has another spoon, and she is more or less willing to share. :> ]
[ it is a sucky fear. a sucky sucky fear. she grins across at him ]
Yup! I figured that I'd be getting hungry soon enough, and I knew from looking that this place wouldn't really have any berry bushes or apple trees to pick from or a market to buy from. Just boiled potatoes, though.
TREASURE HUNTINGtidalsurgeJune 23 2011, 23:24:19 UTC
[ You've got nothing to do for the night, and several of you are probably curious. So why not give this famous 'buried treasure' thing a try? It's pretty cliche, but you're pirates for now. You've got two locals for help and there's not that many houses left to search. Plus it's starting get cold. Might as well walk around to keep warm. ]
[ You can find useable lanterns and oil at the bar and search with those. Old shovels, too. They're kinda rusty, but they'll do the job. Just don't cut yourself with 'em, unless you like tetanus. ]
THE HOUSE AND UPSTAIRStidalsurgeJune 23 2011, 23:24:50 UTC
[ After wandering around, split up or in a group, you stumble upon a single house that's a ways away from the fire pit. ]
[ Whether this house is the last one you check or the first, it's definitely out of place in this desert, buried town. It's the only house with two floors, but what strikes you as odd... is the fact it's the only house with painted rooms. Oh, and there's a noose hanging over the entrance way into the home. That's also odd. Kind of neat, though. ]
[ Oookay, well that was weird. Do you plan on splitting into two groups or sticking as one? Well, whenever you decide to explore the upstairs--You'll find sand and nearly caved in roof up here. There's one particular room, though. The door is closed, but it's relatively easy to open.... ]
[ You're all piling into that room one after another. Well you're kicking sand into the clean room--Man, you guys are horrible house guests! ]
[ Some of you, on the way in.. Will hear a DRY *CRUNCH* and a few of you might sink into the dirt... or trip. What the hell is that? Kick up the sand or dig a bit... ]
[ WHAT A NIGHT, AM I RIGHT? Head back to camp. A few people who decided to stick there are most likely asleep near the pit, but feel free to wake them up and show them a gnarly skull. You all are dirty with pirate-shame. Go to bed. ]
We're getting off way too easy. [He rolls over on his side] Wake me if this becomes a Pirates vs. Aliens thing. Screw the mutiny. I'll be turning myself over to whoever'll take me. The sugar plantations beat bad B-movie plots any day.
THE SIGNAL (private) tidalsurgeJune 24 2011, 02:22:10 UTC
[ It's a pain keeping up the fire and making sure it stays lit for the night. Luckily, the two visitors have volunteered to keep the flame going as you all sleep. From finding 'treasure' to sticking it out in a desert all day... They say the supplies are bound to come anytime, so why not? At least this way, you all get a good night's sleep. ]
[ However, once everyone has crashed... the two begin to talk things over. ]

[ Inside, there's nearly no sand and the windows are boarded up. In the corner, there's a large ladder... with a giant rusty hacksaw on top. ]

When it summons a friggin' alien warcraft, you're gonna wish you weren't waving it around.

A sigh escapes her lips as she pokes the fire with a stick, giving Trucy a glance.]
What a day, huh?

[ Trucy's pulling her legs in, glancing around at the pirates. ]
I couldn't have expected any of this to have happened.

Yeah. All that, and no real issues with fighting or troublemaking? [Scoff.] I bet that was a first.
