[Having come back from the expedition wholly unscathed and with some new answers, Cain now only had one thing important left to do. Which was... clearly why he was sitting in the library and procrastinating about doing it, nervous that Abel wouldn't want to see him. Deciding to get the easier and more frivolous things out of the way first, and then slowly work up to the harder ones, he opened the journal and began to dictate after sticking in
a new map of Paradisa.]
Apparently the map we have been using before this is old, and Miss Lente generously drew a new one for us. These marked areas are the ones where the "outsiders" most often make their camps or frequent. She advised us to make peace with them as soon as possible, perhaps by taking them offerings to show our goodwill.
I think this is an excellent idea; we are all prisoners here in one way or another, and to fight among ourselves seems foolish. If anyone has any suggestions for what would be suitable as a peace gift, I'd love to hear it.
[Filter: Zelman Clock] It's been too long, I might start to think you've gone off me.
[Filter: Chopper] I haven't seen you in a long time. [He hopes Chopper hasn't gone home.]
[Filter: Nudge] [He had been so worried after hearing from Nudge during the vampire incidents, concerned she might have got herself hurt.]
Are you... all right?
[Filter: Just (Angel)] Still brooding on the roof?
[Filter: Methuselah] [This was certainly one of the hard ones, and he didn't really know what to say. It wasn't as though he had been affected in the same way they had, but... he had witnessed it, and he was closer to it than he wanted to be. So after a moment some neat handwriting comes onto the page, hesitating a few times as he writes.]
Are you... I hope you are all recovered. I am sorry this happened to you.
[Filter: Abel] [With nobody conceivably left to write or speak to, he couldn't put it off any longer. How he had left hadn't been ideal, almost like an abandonment of his twin when he needed him most, and he couldn't help the concern that Abel might resent him for that.
He had made his own decisions on what happened, but he didn't want to force them on his brother in case Abel wasn't yet ready to see him or talk about... everything. So in the end he stays where he is in the library, writing a note to Abel in the journal.]
Can I come and see you?
