[FLASH!

Walking through the lobby, anyone might have been forgiven for thinking it had just been struck by lightning along with that blinding sudden flare of light.

FLASH!However, they would be mistaken on second glance... The furniture of the lobby has all been pushed back to the walls and high-end photography equipment has been set up. A camera ( Read more... )

...This has got to be a loss.

[She was just innocently making her way out of the kitchen, with a bottle of 7Up before she went back to the grind of scouring the journal for information, when she was assaulted by flashing lights in her peripheral vision. There is no way any guy would actually of his own free will dress up like that and spout about Princess hearts]

[Stopping at the sound of her voice, he was at her side in a moment to present her with a rose that appeared out of nowhere.]

The only loss here, is that I have not met you before this moment.

[Well, what girl says no to a pretty flower? So she'll take it from him, with a dryly amused expression]

I'm sure you say hat to all the women. [That are way too old for you]

[Of course he does.]

Yet standing here with you, I feel I truly mean it deep in my heart.

[Her eyebrow climbs steadily higher, and she definitely still slots him into a loss, for now. It's not like most people seem to be aware they're on them at the time]

...Thank you. It's nice to be recognized as a cut above the rest. [Now to get out of this politely, and quickly...]

[A hand comes to his heart and an exaggerated pained expression comes over his face.]

Surely you cannot be implying that you are not always recognised for being so worthy of praise?

[To milk this scenario for all that it's worth, or continue in the vein of idle conversation? As much as you can have, with this flowery love novel stuff]

The men in my line of work just don't have enough sense.

[The men in her line of work?

The way she says it sounds like it is a male dominated industry, where she had to struggle to be heard let alone acknowledged as the precious flower she was.]

[Yet what could that be?

Surely these days what had been male dominated industries were now better informed. Lawyers and Medical professionals knew better than to behave in a sexist fashion.]

[What if that wasn't the case in the commoner's world?

WHAT IF THEIR SCHOOLING SYSTEM WAS TOO POOR TO AFFORD APPROPRIATE EDUCATION AND THEY WERE STILL USING THE VALUES OF HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO?!

Thank God he had got Haruhi out of there, or what sort of life would she have led?! The same sort that poor Tess was leading now...]

~TAMAKI BRAIN THEATRE~

[Tess had dreamed of being a builder since she was young enough to play with the lego blocks her father had found in a dumpster. They were broken and chipped, but they were still the nicest toys she could ever have.

Her teachers and family tried to dissuade her, didn't she know only boys could be builders? But she wouldn't listen, she would just... learn to blend in.

So when she left school she immediately joined a building site, demanding the foreman give her a chance -- but it wasn't to be. Everywhere she went she was denied, no matter what she did to try and be one of the men.

She wouldn't give up.

This new world was her new chance. She wasn't going to let the failures of the past drag her down, a spunky gal with a wrench and a hammer, prepared to prove herself and get her dream.

Tess the Builder, can she fix it? You bet she can.]

That is their loss, my princess.

[Taking her hand, he looked into her eyes with firm conviction.]

I promise you, not all men have as little sense as that.
